Hilton Hotels is expanding its presence in Rotterdam, Netherlands with the announcement of 2 hotels scheduled to open next year.

Here’s what you need to know.

The 2 Properties Add Nearly 500 Rooms in Rotterdam

Mainport Hotel Rotterdam, Curio Collection by Hilton will have 215 rooms, an onsite bar and restaurant, and nearly 6,500 square feet of meeting space across 10 meeting rooms.

DoubleTree by Hilton Rotterdam Centre will be adjacent to the Mainport Hotel and will have 265 rooms. The 2 hotels will share a bar and restaurant. Amenities include spa facilities and a swimming pool.

Both hotels are scheduled to open in 2024 following renovations.

Hilton noted Rotterdam’s “vibrant cultural scene” for opening additional properties in Rotterdam and said the 2 new hotels add to the city’s appeal.

“Hilton has a proud legacy in [the] Netherlands dating back more than 60 years, and we’re actively growing our portfolio to cater to customer demand, with 18 hotels now trading or under development,” said Patrick Fitzgibbon, Senior Vice President of Development, Europe, Middle East and Africa at Hilton.

The 2 hotels will join the existing Hilton Rotterdam and Motto by Hilton Rotterdam Blaak, as well as the 16 other properties open or in various stages of development around the country.

How To Book Hilton Hotels in Rotterdam With Points

While we wait for the Curio and DoubleTree properties to open next year, you have other options if you’d like to redeem Hilton Honors points in Rotterdam. As mentioned above, Hilton has 2 hotels currently open in the city, and they are pretty affordable when using points.

Stays at the Motto by Hilton Rotterdam Blaak start at just 27,000 points per night, while the Hilton Rotterdam starts at 41,000 points per night.

Bottom Line:

Hilton no longer uses an award chart; instead, the chain has adopted variable award pricing, which means award nights can be cheaper or more expensive, depending on when you travel.

Luckily, it’s very straightforward to earn Hilton Honors points. Several Hilton co-branded credit cards offer massive welcome bonuses and some form of elite status. Hilton Honors members can also transfer points from American Express, ride with Lyft, or dine with Hilton Honors Dining to quickly earn more points.

Final Thoughts

Hilton is expanding its presence in the Netherlands’ second-largest city. Curio and DoubleTree are respected brands in their own right and will certainly fit in with Hilton’s other properties in the city when they open next year!
