Members of the IHG One Rewards program and ANA Mileage Club can now enjoy crossover benefits when flying with ANA and staying at IHG hotels, thanks to a new partnership between the 2 companies.

With this new tie-up, you’ll be able to earn points or miles with both partners, transfer between programs, and even receive an elite status match from one program to another.

Here is everything you need to know.

New IHG and ANA Partnership — The Details

Launching “after October,” IHG One Rewards and ANA Mileage Club members will gain access to benefits, including a loyalty recognition offer for ANA Mileage Club members, double-dip earnings on select ANA flights, and the ability to transfer ANA miles to IHG One Rewards and vice versa.

IHG Elite Status Matching

First, make sure you’re enrolled in both the IHG One Rewards and ANA Mileage Club programs. If you already hold ANA elite status, you’ll be matched to a corresponding level of IHG One Rewards elite status, and that will be reflected in your IHG account.

For those with ANA Mileage Club status, that breaks down like this:

Status members with ANA Diamond + More will receive IHG Diamond Elite status
Members with ANA Diamond will receive IHG Platinum Elite status
Members with ANA Platinum status will receive IHG Gold Elite status
Members with ANA Bronze status will receive IHG Silver Elite status

This will allow members to enjoy IHG elite benefits, such as room upgrades and late checkout, at all participating IHG hotels worldwide.

Double-Dip Mileage Earnings on Select International ANA flights

Travelers will be able to link their loyalty accounts and benefit from double-dip earnings, with IHG One Rewards points awarded based on flight distance and fare class.

Transfer Points Between Programs

IHG One Rewards and ANA Mileage Club members will also be able to transfer their accrued rewards between programs, allowing you to convert IHG One Rewards points into ANA miles, and vice versa.

You’ve already been able to transfer your IHG One Rewards points to ANA at a 5:1 rate, with a minimum transfer of 10,000 points. No word has been given yet as to what the reverse transfer from ANA to IHG will be.

Hot Tip:

In addition to ANA, you can transfer your IHG One Rewards points to nearly 40 airline partnership programs. This can give you good flexibility beyond just hotel redemptions with your IHG points, but be sure you’ll get solid value from your redemption before transferring points.

Final Thoughts

This new partnership between IHG and ANA adds value to both programs, thanks to crossover benefits such as elite status matching, double-dipping rewards, and the ability to transfer rewards between programs.

Keep in mind that the crossover benefits do not begin until October at the earliest, so you’ll need to wait until then to start taking advantage.
