Canadian carrier Porter Airlines is adding 2 nonstop routes to Florida from Ontario’s Hamilton International Airport (YHM). The new routes kick off on December 12, 2025, and will become Porter’s first U.S. flights from Hamilton.

“We are continuing to grow our presence in Hamilton, announcing nine nonstop routes this year,” said Andrew Pierce, vice president of network planning and reporting at Porter Airlines.

Here’s what you need to know.

Porter Adds Flights to the Sunshine State

Porter Airlines will add seasonal service from Ontario’s Hamilton International Airport (YHM) to Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) starting in December.

Here’s a look at the new routes and their frequencies:

Porter will fly its Embraer E195 on the routes, which is a peculiar aircraft for such long flights. For instance, Air Canada and Flair Airlines also fly to these destinations from nearby Toronto (YYZ), but they use Boeing 737MAX and Airbus A319 jets, respectively.

Still, Porter’s E195 product is perhaps one of the nicest in North America. Seats are arranged in a 2-2 configuration, and passengers enjoy complimentary beer and wine (served in glassware), snacks, and free Wi-Fi.

The new routes come amid a fraught period for U.S.-Canadian relations. After President Trump announced that he wants Canada to be annexed as the 51st U.S. state, Canadian opinions of the U.S. — its closest partner — are at historic lows.

Those feelings have spilled over into the travel industry, with Canadians opting to avoid the U.S. for now.

Several Canadian airlines have started to feel the effects. In the spring, WestJet axed a new route between Calgary (YYC) and New York LaGuardia (LGA) before it even began. Low-cost Canadian carrier Flair also canceled several routes in the spring, including Waterloo (YKF) to Fort Lauderdale (FLL).

Booking Porter’s New Routes

The new flights are available at FlyPorter.com (they don’t appear to be available in Google Flights yet).

We’re seeing flights starting at $124 one-way. However, the cheapest tickets are the most restrictive. With PorterClassic, you’re limited to just a personal item. You’ll pay extra for seat selection and checked baggage and won’t be able to bring carry-on luggage or even receive an electronic boarding pass.

The Alaska Airlines-Porter Airlines partnership allows customers to earn Mileage Plan miles on Porter flights and vice versa. You now also have the ability to redeem Alaska miles on Porter flights.

Final Thoughts

Porter Airlines’ addition of flights to the U.S. is the rare bright spot in a few months of worsening U.S.-Canadian relations, which have included several Canadian airlines ending U.S. routes. Hopefully, this is a sign of more new routes to come.
