Priority Pass Expands Beyond Lounges With Fast Track, a New App, and Luxury Airport Experiences

Priority Pass is pushing well past its origins as a lounge-access program, with expanded fast track security at airports around the world, a redesigned app, and a high-end tier called Priority Pass Private. The company announced its intentions September 15 and sits inside a broader 5-year, £500 million ($676.7 million) investment plan from parent company Collinson.

For travelers who get Priority Pass through a credit card, what you have access to is growing. Some of these upgrades are live now. Others arrive over the next 12 months.

Here’s what travelers should actually expect from the future of the well-known lounge conglomerate.

Fast Track: 28 Airports Now, Over 130 on the Way

Fast track is the most tangible piece for members at present. This service lets travelers book expedited security lanes directly through the Priority Pass app. It’s already live at 28 airports across 8 countries in Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East. Priority Pass says the network will expand to more than 170 bookable fast track lanes, across more than 150 terminals and more than 130 airports globally, over the next 12 months. Further expansion is planned in Asia and the Pacific.

There’s an important catch, though: Fast track is a paid service. Pricing varies by airport, and you can’t use lounge visit entitlements (the credits bundled with most credit card Priority Pass memberships) to pay for it. Travelers pay separately, typically inside the app.

The demand is there. According to Priority Pass’ own research, 73% of travelers identify fast track as the top technology for improving the airport experience.

Priority Pass+ App: Consolidation Now, AI Later

The updated Priority Pass+ app (iOS, Android) is the second piece worth knowing about. Some of the features are already live:

• Easier activation and saved card functionality
• Biometric authentication, plus email or SMS one-time verification
• The ability for eligible members to view and manage multiple Priority Pass memberships in 1 place, which is useful for travelers holding memberships through more than 1 credit card

Other features are still on the roadmap. Priority Pass says the app will eventually offer AI-driven lounge and experience suggestions based on real-time location and past behavior, secure in-app purchases of experiences and travel benefits, and, in the near future, the option for the primary cardholder with a Priority Pass membership to share visit entitlements with supplementary cardholders traveling independently (when allowed by the issuing bank).

That last piece could become one of the most useful changes for cardholders, especially in households where 1 spouse holds the premium card and the other flies solo for work.

Priority Pass Private: Luxury at a Steep Price

Priority Pass Private is the third piece, though it isn’t entirely new. The company introduced it in September 2025 as an invitation-only luxury experience for high-net-worth customers and business travelers. What’s happening now is continued expansion, not a fresh debut.

The service includes access to private terminals, expedited security, VIP lounges, luxury ground transfers, and dedicated concierge service. It’s aimed at travelers who want a private-aviation-style experience while still flying commercial.

These experiences aren’t cheap. Priority Pass hasn’t published prices publicly, but reviews from travelers online have mentioned paying a few thousand dollars for the full experience of lounge, black car transfers, and concierge services. What you pay varies by airport and service level.

What This Means for Credit Card Priority Pass Benefits

Coverage varies by card, and enrollment may be required to activate your membership. Some include unlimited lounge visits for the primary cardholder, some limit guest access, and some include only a set number of visits per year.

It’s worth pointing out that the card benefit itself doesn’t automatically include fast track or Priority Pass Private. Fast track is priced separately and booked through the app. Priority Pass Private has its own cost structure, and you must fill out a form indicating your interest online without seeing pricing up front.

What card-issued Priority Pass memberships do get is access to the Priority Pass+ app, which is where you book all of these new services.

For travelers weighing whether their premium credit card’s Priority Pass benefit still justifies its annual fee, the answer should become clearer as the network expands. More lounges, more airports, more services, and eventually smarter recommendations mean the benefit is worth more even without any change to the underlying card or membership setup.

The Bigger Picture: A Broader Airport Platform

These upgrades come from Collinson’s £500 million, 5-year investment plan, funded in part by a newly announced £350 million ($473.7 million) financing facility. A large portion is going toward expanding the group’s proprietary lounge network through sister company Airport Dimensions, represented in the U.S. primarily by The Club lounges. That matters because capacity (the factor that determines whether a lounge is overcrowded) is Priority Pass’ most persistent complaint.

The Priority Pass network recently passed 1,900 lounges and travel experiences globally, having grown 6.7% over the past 12 months. Global air passenger traffic is projected to nearly double, to roughly 19 billion journeys per year by 2045, according to Airports Council International. Priority Pass is trying to grow ahead of that curve.

Priority Pass is turning itself into an end-to-end airport benefits platform, and that shift in the company’s vision is more interesting than any single feature in this announcement. The Priority Pass+ app is where everything gets booked, and Priority Pass’ fast track is the new service that most travelers will actually use. On the other hand, Priority Pass Private is growing, and it sits at the top of the range for anyone with a very generous travel budget.

Travelers whose Priority Pass access comes bundled with a premium card should watch the benefit closely over the next 12 months. The card offer isn’t changing, but what the card provides access to is getting bigger — even if the new features have an extra cost.
