Australia’s Qantas has one of the world’s more elusive first-class experiences around on its Airbus A380 aircraft. Now, it’s getting some upgrades.

The carrier is rolling out new and enhanced amenities designed to improve the inflight experience for the lucky passengers flying in these cabins.

What are they? Let’s take a look.

Qantas Introduces New Food, Champagne, Pajamas, and Amenity Kits in First Class

Australian flag carrier Qantas has begun rolling out new and upgraded amenities for its first class passengers, including new dining options, elevated Champagnes, and new pajamas and amenity kits.

First-class passengers on flights departing Australia will get to experience new food options from the carrier’s creative director of food and beverage Neil Perry’s lauded Sydney restaurant, Margaret.

Dish highlights include:

  • Yellowfin tuna tartare with gochujang, toasted sesame, and baby cos
  • Roasted Wollemi duck with orange caramel, crispy Chinese greens, golden sesame, and jasmine rice
  • Margra lamb cutlets with shaved fennel, pine nuts, arugula, salsa verde, and lemon
  • Neil Perry’s Gran Torino Torta di Verona with Amaretto and toasted almonds

Of course, passengers can expect an impressive list of Australian wines, cocktails, and new Champagne options, including Bollinger Grand Année 2015 and Pommery Cuvée Louise 2006.

In addition to the new food and beverage options, Qantas is introducing a dine-on-demand program that allows passengers to pick the times that work best for them to eat and drink. This is a feature that’s been available on many top first-class products globally, including those from Emirates and Singapore Airlines.

New amenity kits come from Aesop, an Australian luxury cosmetics brand that’s taken the world by storm in recent years. Passengers will be able to choose from 3 distinct designs, and they’ll feature a multitude of Aesop products, including hand balm, hand sanitizer, lip balm, toothpaste, Eau de Parfum, an eye mask, a bamboo toothbrush, and earplugs from 3M.

Finally, passengers will be treated to updated pajamas designed by Qantas, as well as “loafer-style slippers.”

These first-class enhancements have already begun rolling out across Qantas’ routes. The carrier offers first-class cabins on board its Airbus A380s, which serve key destinations worldwide, including Dallas Fort Worth (DFW), Johannesburg (JNB), London Heathrow (LHR), Los Angeles (LAX), and Singapore (SIN).

Final Thoughts

Qantas has begun introducing enhancements to its already great experience in first class. Passengers can expect new dining options, dine-on-demand service, new Champagne, new pajamas, and new designer amenity kits.

While these improvements won’t push Qantas to the top of the list of the world’s best first-class products, they certainly will be welcomed by passengers flying the airline’s long flights from Australia to the rest of the world.
