Qatar Airways is adding 2 more South American destinations to its map — and one of them is a city that’s increasingly seeing international airlines return after years of limited connectivity.

Starting this summer, the Gulf carrier will launch new flights to Bogotá, Colombia, and Caracas, Venezuela, giving travelers another 1-stop option between northern South America and destinations across the Middle East, Asia, and beyond, routing through the airline’s Doha hub.

Here’s what you need to know about the airline’s newest ultra-long-haul route.

Qatar Airways Is Expanding Deeper Into South America

Currently, Qatar Airways only serves 1 destination in South America: São Paulo (GRU). But that’s set to change this summer when the airline launches new flights to both Bogotá and Caracas.

Starting July 22, 2026, the airline will begin operating a new twice-weekly route from Doha (DOH) to Bogotá (BOG), with the return flight continuing through Caracas (CCS) before heading back to Qatar.

Here’s the current schedule:

  • Depart Doha (DOH) at 7:30 a.m. and arrive in Bogotá (BOG) at 4:05 p.m.
  • Depart Bogotá (BOG) at 5:35 p.m. and arrive in Caracas (CCS) at 8:40 p.m.
  • Depart Caracas (CCS) at 10:40 p.m. and arrive in Doha (DOH) at 7:55 p.m. (+1)

The route will be operated by a Boeing 777-200LR, though travelers hoping to fly Qatar Airways’ Qsuite business class may want to manage their expectations for now. The currently scheduled aircraft appears to feature the airline’s older business-class configuration — though, as always, aircraft swaps are possible.

The move also comes as airlines continue to restore and expand connectivity to Venezuela and northern South America. Just last month, American Airlines resumed flights between Miami and Caracas, while Emirates continues operating its fifth-freedom route between Miami and Bogotá.

For travelers, the new route adds another nonstop option to Qatar and a 1-stop option between northern South America and destinations across the Middle East, Asia, and Africa.

Bottom Line:

Qatar Airways is launching a new Doha-to-Bogotá route that returns via Caracas, giving travelers in northern South America another 1-stop option to the Middle East and beyond.

Final Thoughts

Qatar Airways launching flights to Bogotá and Caracas is another big win for connectivity in northern South America — especially for Venezuela, where international service is finally starting to rebound.

With American Airlines back in Caracas, Emirates already flying to Bogotá from Miami, and now Qatar Airways joining the mix, travelers are seeing more global route options in the region.
