The passenger experience in Doha’s Hamad International Airport (DOH) has changed.

Qatar Airways has opened 3 new lounges, just in time for Eid and the upcoming World Cup tournament that starts in November 2022.

“It is my pleasure to announce the opening of three premium frequent flyer programme lounges at Hamad International Airport, just in time for the peak Eid holiday,” said His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, Chief Executive of Qatar Airways Group.

Here’s what you can expect from Qatar’s newest lounges in Doha.

Qatar Airways’ New Lounges at Doha (DOH)

The 3 new lounges — the Qatar Airways Platinum Lounge South, the Qatar Airways Gold Lounge South, and the Qatar Airways Silver Lounge South — are ready and waiting for you at Qatar’s Hamad International Airport (DOH).

Each boasting “stunning tarmac views,” the lounges are dedicated, separate spaces for Qatar’s Platinum, Gold, and Silver Privilege Club members, as well as Oneworld Emerald and Sapphire members.

Guests will be able to access these lounges no matter which cabin class they’re traveling in, so long as they have the aforementioned eligible status.

Qatar Airways Platinum Lounge South

Exclusively for top-tier Qatar Airways Platinum and Oneworld Emerald members, the Platinum Lounge holds space for up to 140 guests and offers both à la carte and buffet dining, showers, a bar, a prayer room, and a quiet zone.

Qatar Airways Gold Lounge South

The new Gold Lounge has space for up to 85 Qatar Airways Gold and Oneworld Sapphire elite members. The noticeable difference is that unlike in the Platinum Lounge, guests in the Gold Lounge don’t get to enjoy an à la carte restaurant experience.

Both the Platinum and Gold lounges can be found on Concourse A.

Qatar Airways Silver Lounge South

On Concourse B you’ll find the Silver Lounge South lounge that was inaugurated in March 2022.

Only those with Qatar Airways Silver status have access to the lounge, which has the capacity for up to 195. Note that this lounge does not have shower facilities.

Hot Tip: If you’re traveling in either first or business class, you’ll still have access to Qatar’s most prestigious lounges: the Al Safwa First Lounge and the Al Mourjan Business Lounge, which we deem to be some of the best first and best business class lounges in the world.

Final Thoughts

If you’re traveling through Doha’s Hamad International Airport anytime soon, you might have the chance to experience 3 new lounges.

The lounges will provide welcome additional space for those traveling for Eid, as well as the barrage of soccer fans that are expected to arrive daily throughout November and December for the World Cup.

While the lounges are open for all passengers regardless of cabin class, you’ll need either Qatar or Oneworld elite status to gain entry.
