If you didn’t think Qatar’s QSuite could get any better, it can, and it will.

The airline chose the first day of the 2024 Farnborough International Airshow to unveil its next-generation QSuite to a crowd of VIPs plus excited media and journalists from around the world.

“We know that if we’re going to continue to be the best, we must continue to innovate,” said Xai Cai, senior vice president of product development at Qatar Airways.

From an all-new Companion Suite and even more spacious social seating to digitally lockable storage, here’s how Qatar’s Next Generation QSuite has raised the bar yet again.

Qatar Airways’ Next Generation QSuite

Today, the Doha-based airline — renowned for its one-of-a-kind QSuite — unveiled the next generation of this game-changing business class that will debut exclusively onboard its Boeing 777X, which are slated to be delivered by the end of 2025.

The biggest and most exciting update from Qatar Airways is the addition of the so-called Companion Suite.

“If you’re traveling as 2, and seated in the window, it means that you are no longer seated alone,” explained Cai.

Hot Tip:

If you’re dying to fly QSuite but can’t wait until the end of next year, check out our guide on how to book this phenomenal business class seat using points and miles.

Qatar’s QSuite cabins already feature social seating options in which groups of 4 can dine together — or 2 passengers traveling together can sit side by side and enjoy the option of a single or double bed.

However, the new Companion Suite gives 2 people traveling together the opportunity to combine their rear- and forward-facing suites so they, too, can dine together in a similar way to the famous Quad Suites.

Dinner for 2, with a view…

All QSuite seats will feature increased storage, including a sleek pull-out drawer.

It’s not easy to see in this image, but there’s a button above the control panel that releases a lockable storage drawer for those passengers who’d prefer an extra level of security when stowing their valuables. This kind of innovation will be a first of its kind when it launches.

Passengers can digitally enter their preferred code via the touchpad to lock and unlock their secure drawer.

The seats also feature a dedicated cubby hole for shoes at floor level, as highlighted by the magenta mood lighting.

The Quad, which is already famed for being one of the best social spaces in the sky, will now become “the largest social space in the sky,” as the screens can be moved completely out of the way.

However, as you can see in the image below, the partition between the seats doesn’t open fully.

The central partition of the Quad Suite in the Next Gen QSuite cabins will slide similarly but will continue to fold flush with the wall of the suite to create a completely open plan space.

Woah, look at this!

Thanks to these unobstructed views, this new design will give passengers in both the Companion and Quad Suites a real sense of togetherness when traveling together.

As the QSuite has long been considered the best business class in the world, the airline knew it would have its work cut out to make it even better.

“The suites are wider, have more shoulder and leg room, which, of course, converts to an even wider flat bed,” said Badr Mohammad Al Meer, CEO at Qatar Airways.

Some of the updates that Qatar is introducing are features we’re already used to, such as wireless charging.

This is a readily available feature on many airlines, though this has only been introduced after Qatar’s QSuite debuted in 2017.

The Boeing 777X aircraft, which will boast the Next Gen QSuite, will also be kitted out Starlink Wi-Fi — the best Wi-Fi in the sky that’s currently used by airlines like Air Baltic, Hawaiian, and Starlux.

Badr promises that the 777X’s Starlink inflight Wi-Fi will be fast enough for passengers to join a conference call and stream their favorite shows and movies.

Speaking of tech, Cai confirmed that a new and revamped Oryx entertainment system should be introduced across the airline’s fleet in summer 2025, which is before the arrival of the Next Gen QSuite.

And finally, in the name of sustainability, Badr highlighted the efforts Qatar Airways has made to be as environmentally conscious as possible with the design of the new QSuite.

“We have developed the QSuite Next Gen with materials that are lighter in weight and even recyclable.”

Final Thoughts

There’s really no doubt about it: Qatar Airways has, and will continue to have, the best business class seat for years to come, thanks to the all-new QSuite that will grace our skies hopefully before the end of next year.

Who will you invite to join you in the exclusive Companion Suite?
