If you’ve booked a BLADE helicopter flight through Bilt before, you might read this update and wonder what actually changed. Bilt has let you search for BLADE flights in its travel portal for a while now.

The difference is where the transaction happens, and that small shift opens up a couple of payment options that weren’t available before.

Let’s check out this improvement and what it means for you.

What Actually Changed With Bilt and BLADE?

Previously, searching for a BLADE flight in the Bilt Travel Portal would send you over to BLADE’s own site to finish the booking once you picked a departure time. Now the entire process — search, seat selection, and checkout — stays inside Bilt’s platform.

That matters because keeping the transaction in Bilt’s checkout is what makes it possible to pay with Bilt Points or Bilt Cash for the first time.

This change also gives Bilt members 2 new ways to pay. You can apply Bilt Points toward any BLADE booking made in the portal, either covering the full cost or combining points with cash. You can also redeem Bilt Cash, up to $350 per seat for up to 2 flights per calendar year, for a total value of up to $700 annually.

Your available Bilt Cash shows up automatically as a payment option at checkout, where you can combine it with points, a linked credit card, or both.

The credits reset every January 1 and aren’t replenished after you use them within the same year. Each credit covers 1 seat, and if your seat costs less than $350, the leftover doesn’t carry over. Bilt Cash also applies to the seat only, not extras like luggage.

Booking and Elite Member Benefits

To make a reservation, open the Bilt app or Bilt Rewards website, head to the travel portal, and search for your BLADE flight. At checkout, choose Bilt Points, Bilt Cash, a combination, or any linked card, then confirm.

Every Bilt member earns 2 Bilt Points per $1 spent on BLADE bookings made through the portal. Elite members get even more.

Silver members and above get 10% off BLADE bookings made through the Bilt app. Gold and Platinum members add BLADE lounge access, even on days they aren’t flying, with up to 2 drinks per visit during operating hours. Platinum members go a step further with a complimentary BLADE flight each year between Manhattan and JFK or Newark, and a matching Nice-to-Monaco option exists in France.
