The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami, has long offered guests a refined and relaxed stay just south of the city’s action, glitz, and glamor. However, the hotel was showing its age and had lost some of its luxury chops in recent years.

Instead of simply replacing furniture and throwing on a new coat of paint, the resort decided to go big with a complete overhaul that cost around $100 million and resulted in the property being entirely closed for much of this year.

Now, The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami, is just about ready to reopen, with guests being welcomed back to the property as of December 8, 2025. Here’s what you need to know.

The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami, Is Taking Reservations From December 8

The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami, will open its doors once again on December 8, 2025 — just in time for the holidays.

The luxury beachfront property has been closed since May to undergo a comprehensive renovation, which is the most in-depth it’s received in about a quarter of a century.

Anyone who has stayed at the property before will immediately notice the changes when they step into the lobby, which has eschewed its former old-world luxury for a modern, coastal look. It’s complete with a gigantic floor-to-ceiling glass wall that provides views right out to the ocean.

All of the property’s guest rooms and suites have been completely reimagined, with new furnishings, textures, and color schemes. In the bathrooms, guests can expect stone finishes, soaking tubs, and walk-in showers in certain suites.

Elsewhere, the property’s public spaces have been given an entirely new look to evoke the property’s sedate seaside setting, and there’s a brand-new spa that will offer numerous luxurious amenities, including an outdoor garden space and a collaboration with Tremble, a local fitness studio that will offer classes and experiences.

Guests can choose from several dining and drinking outlets, including 2 all-new restaurants: Luma and Paralía. The former will serve Italian-inspired dishes throughout breakfast, lunch, and dinner, while the latter will focus on “blending Greek and Turkish coastal vibes” throughout the entire day.

Several restaurants will carry over from the previous iteration of the hotel, including Dune Beach Bar (formerly known as Dune Burgers on the Beach), RumBar (the lobby lounge), Scoop (an ice cream shop), and Stefano’s (a poolside pizza restaurant).

How To Book

The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne participates in the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program, which means members can earn and redeem Marriott Bonvoy points for stays.

As The Ritz-Carlton is one of Marriott’s most high-end brands, you can expect to pay handsomely for a stay here.

If you’re interested in a trip this month, you can book a guest room from $658 per night. Alternatively, you can redeem 62,000+ Marriott Bonvoy points per night, which is actually quite a good deal if you’re able to book nights at those rates. We value Marriott Bonvoy points at 0.7 cents apiece, meaning 62,000 points are worth about $434 — significantly less than the price of entry if you were to pay cash for a room.

And thankfully, it’s relatively easy to earn Marriott Bonvoy pointsMarriott offers several co-branded credit cards, all of which offer solid welcome bonuses. You can also transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards and American Express Membership Rewards points to Marriott Bonvoy at a 1:1 ratio.
