Royal Jordanian currently operates direct nonstop service to several North American destinations, including Chicago (ORD), Detroit (DTW), Montreal (YUL), New York (JFK), and Toronto (YYZ).

In March 2025, the carrier will add nonstop service from Amman (AMM) to Washington, D.C. (IAD).

Now, Royal Jordanian is planning to aggressively expand its U.S. route network by adding 3 new destinations: Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), Los Angeles (LAX), and Miami (MIA).

Let’s explore these potential route additions in more detail.

Royal Jordanian To Expand Its U.S. Route Network

As flagged by Ishrion on X, Royal Jordanian is planning to expand service in the U.S. from its hub at Queen Alia International Airport (AMM) in Amman. This follows the carrier’s announcement of the Washington, D.C. route last month.

The Dallas route is expected to launch in 2025 also, followed by the Miami route in 2026 and Los Angeles in 2028, just in time for the 2028 Summer Olympics, which will be hosted in Los Angeles.

The Jordan-based carrier already operates direct nonstop service to 5 North American cities, including Chicago (ORD), Detroit (DTW), Montreal (YUL), New York (JFK), and Toronto (YYZ). Additionally, the airline will commence service to Washington (IAD) on March 23, 2025, with 2x weekly nonstop flights.

As Dallas (DFW), Los Angeles (LAX), and Miami (MIA) are American Airlines hubs and Oneworld alliance focus airports, this move seems quite logical, especially considering the airline’s membership in Oneworld and its desire to broaden its U.S. route network and connectivity within the country.

The airline is updating its widebody fleet. It currently operates 7 Boeing 787-8s and plans to acquire 6 additional Boeing 787-9s in the coming years to meet its long-haul capacity objectives in the U.S. and other global regions.

Bottom Line:

In the next 3 years, Royal Jordanian wants to expand its route network to include 3 new destinations in the United States: Dallas (DFW), Los Angeles (LAX), and Miami (MIA). When these new routes are established, the Amman-based carrier will provide nonstop service to a total of 9 North American cities.

Royal Jordanian’s Other Route Plans

When and if all these new ambitious routes become operational, Royal Jordanian will offer direct service to 9 North American destinations by 2028. This would surely simplify travel for U.S. travelers flying directly to Jordan, eliminating the need for lengthy connections in Europe and the Middle East.

In addition to the U.S. route expansion, the carrier has several other new services planned. In the upcoming years, there are plans to broaden service to India, specifically to Delhi (DEL) and Mumbai (BOM), along with additional cities such as Beijing (PEK), Dublin (DUB), Birmingham (BHX), and Seoul (ICN).

Final Thoughts

Jordan is a destination that many Americans, including myself, would love to visit. With Royal Jordanian’s plans to introduce new flights to Dallas in 2025, Miami in 2026, and Los Angeles in 2028, a trip to Jordan will undoubtedly become more accessible for Americans.

We will keep you updated when more information about these additional routes becomes available.
