Marriott has announced the opening of a new all-inclusive resort in Mexico — and it has more than 1,000 suites.

Let’s take a look at the new resort!

Marriott’s 31st All-inclusive Property in the Caribbean and Latin America

On December 21, 2022, Marriott announced the opening of the Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort.

All rooms feature a terrace or balcony, rain showers, an in-room jacuzzi, and 24-hour, 7-day-a-week room service. Rooms range from a junior suite with a garden or ocean view to large Chairman and Sky Chairman suites with club lounge access.

The hotel features a whopping 12 dining options, featuring Indian, American, Italian, and, of course, Mexican cuisine.

For all-ages fun, guests will be treated to a water park with 2 lazy rivers and more than a dozen water slides and tubes. Children will also have access to a dedicated kid’s club, laser tag, trampoline park, and bowling. Some of these amenities will cost an extra fee.

The resort also features a spa, including hydrotherapy circuits, a sauna, and its own convention center with a whopping 25,000 square feet of meeting space.

“Situated in one of Cancun’s appraised developing zones providing unlimited access to the gorgeous white sanded beach of the Mexican Caribbean, Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun allows us to showcase the richness of all-inclusive resorts and their value for an immersive travel experience,” said Brian King, President of Caribbean and Latin America at Marriott, said in a statement.

Jordi Pelfort, President of Hotels and Resorts of Sunwing Travel Group, said the Royalton was a decade in the making, and it intends to offer a “truly inclusive” experience for all travelers.

The new resort joins 6 other Marriott all-inclusive options in Mexico, all in the Cancún/Playa del Carmen area.

Rates start at around $280 per night for a standard room for February 2023 dates or 74,000 Marriott Bonvoy points. Marriott’s all-inclusive properties participate in the Marriott Bonvoy program, which means travelers can earn and redeem points at these resorts. Luckily, earning Marriott Bonvoy points is incredibly easy.

Bottom Line: You have several options for earning Marriott Bonvoy points, including opening a Marriott Bonvoy-earning personal and business credit card, or via the Chase transfer partner or American Express transfer partner, and even linking to your Uber account.

Final Thoughts

While Marriott fans have no shortage of all-inclusive resorts in Mexico, the Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun represents another luxurious, family-friendly option.

And with decent rates in cash or Marriott Bonvoy points, this is definitely a fantastic option to consider for a stay in Cancún!
