Marriott announced on December 15, 2022, that the Marriott Resort Palm Jumeirah, Dubai, has opened for guests. It’s the first resort under Marriott’s “signature flag” brand to open in the city.

The hotel features more than 600 guest rooms and suites, from standard rooms featuring private balconies to the Palm Suite, which boasts nearly 900 square feet of living space.

The Marriott Resort Palm Jumeirah Dubai also features a whopping 10 dining options featuring the cuisines of JapanPeruItaly, South Korea, and more. For instance, Cucina features Italian comfort food, while Smoki Moto Dubai is expected to become the city’s first high-end Korean steakhouse.

A spa, which is expected to open next year, will feature private treatment rooms and a space for couples.

Other amenities include a Kid’s Club — which consists of a dedicated pool for children — 20,000 square feet of event space, and outdoor terrace space with sea views.

Marriott said Dubai is an “ideal location” for a flagship property.

“With the opening of this resort, we continue to live our legacy of wonderful hospitality, and build momentum for the brand’s evolution and modern appeal that is tailormade for our guests to empower their every pursuit,” Drew Iddings, Vice President and Global Brand Leader at Marriott, said in a statement.

The Marriott Resort Palm Jumeirah joins a whopping 53 Marriott-branded hotels in and around Dubai, including the famed Al Maha, a Luxury Collection Desert Resort & Spa, the W Dubai – The Palm, the Dubai EDITION, and others.

Marriott Hotels is comprised of 30 brands, and Marriott Resorts is under the “premium brands” umbrella. The Marriott Resort Palm Jumeirah is part of the Marriott Bonvoy program, meaning you can earn and redeem points at the property. Rates start at 43,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night for dates in February and March 2023.

Marriott Bonvoy is a Chase transfer partner and Amex transfer partner at a 1:1 ratio. Additionally, both Chase and American Express issue personal and business credit cards that earn Bonvoy points. And, you can earn points while dining out through the hotel’s Eat Around Town program or by riding with Uber.

Final Thoughts

While Marriott has a considerable presence in the United Arab Emirates, the opening of the Marriott Resort Palm Jumeirah marks the first flagship-branded resort property in the city. This is excellent news for Marriott fans who have yet another high-end option in Dubai, and with award nights starting at just 43,000 points per night, it’s sure to be a popular option!
