Marriott has opened a new high-end hotel in the bustling city of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Let’s take a look at Marriott’s newest hotel in the Dominican Republic!

Debut of Marriott Hotels Brand in Santo Domingo

Santo Domingo Marriott Hotel Piantini has 207 guest rooms and suites and is located in the city’s financial hub. It offers several dining options, from an all-day restaurant to a lobby bar. The hotel also has an M Club — available to Platinum, Titanium, and Ambassador Marriott elite members and guests staying on executive floors — featuring complimentary breakfast, all-day refreshments, and cocktails.

Amenities include 10,000 square feet of event space, a fitness center, and a rooftop pool.

“The Dominican Republic is a destination known for its diverse geography and culture, with Santo Domingo being a dynamic city and the first European settlement of the Americas,” said Brian King, President of Caribbean and Latin America at Marriott. “We are thrilled to expand the brand’s presence in the capital with the opening of Santo Domingo Marriott Hotel Piantini.”

This is the debut of the Marriott Hotels brand — which has over 600 hotels and resorts in over 65 countries — in the Dominican Republic’s capital.

Bottom Line:

The hotel is 40 minutes from Santo Domingo Las Américas International Airport (SDQ), which is served by several major airlines, including American, Delta, JetBlue, and United.

Booking Santo Domingo Marriott Hotel Piantini

Santo Domingo Marriott Hotel Piantini is now open for guests. The hotel participates in the Marriott Bonvoy program, which means you can earn and redeem points.

Rates are a steal whether you’re paying cash or using points. Cash prices at the hotel start at $200 per night for dates this June — a steal for any hotel in the Caribbean.

Using Marriott Bonvoy points, you’ll find even more competitive pricing. Award nights begin at just 19,000 points per night for a standard or deluxe guest room.

Like many major hotel chains, Marriott no longer uses an award chart. Instead, it uses dynamic pricing, which means award prices can depend on various factors.

Luckily, earning Marriott Bonvoy points is a breeze. You can transfer American Express Membership Rewards and Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Marriott at a 1:1 ratio or open 1 of the best Marriott Bonvoy credit cards. These cards come with sizable welcome bonus offers and some form of Marriott Bonvoy elite status.

Final Thoughts

Santo Domingo Marriott Hotel Piantini is a steal for travelers looking to maximize their points in the Caribbean. With bargain cash and points prices, the hotel will likely become a quick favorite among Marriott Bonvoy loyalists!
