We’ve got another new Southwest Companion Pass promo to tell you about! If you’re a fan of Southwest Airlines, you’ll want to check your account to see if you’ve been targeted for this new promotion offering multiple ways to fast-track to a Southwest Companion Pass.

Here are the details on how you can earn double or triple Companion Pass qualifying points.

Details on Southwest Companion Pass Fast-Track Promotion

A new promo from Southwest Airlines offers multiple ways to help you earn a Southwest Companion Pass faster. This promotion runs through November 30, 2023, but prior registration is required:

  • Earn double Companion Pass qualifying points on all qualifying flights booked and flown during the promotional period.
  • Business travelers can earn triple Companion Pass qualifying points when booking through SWABIZ.com, GDS, or SPS.
  • Earn 2 Companion Pass qualifying points per dollar spent on any Chase Southwest Rapid Rewards credit card.
  • Each flight purchased with Rapid Rewards points will count as 1 Companion Pass qualifying flight.

To earn double points, a qualifying flight must be purchased using dollars, Southwest LUV Vouchers, gift cards, or travel funds. Therefore, flights purchased using Rapid Rewards points won’t qualify for double points. They will, however, count as a Companion Pass qualifying flight.

As a reminder, you can get a Companion Pass by earning 135,000 qualifying points or by flying 100 qualifying one-way flights in a calendar year.

How To Register

To see if you’re eligible for this promotion, head to your Southwest Airlines account and click on My Account. Then scroll to the bottom of the screen and look for the promotion registration box.

You must click on the link to register for this promotion before purchasing flights.

Bottom Line:

A new limited-time promotion is available from Southwest Airlines, giving you multiple ways to earn extra Companion Pass qualifying points and flights. You’ll need to register beforehand, and you must complete all qualifying activities by November 30, 2023.

What Is the Southwest Companion Pass?

The Southwest Companion Pass is an awesome deal that essentially allows you to get a BOGO on flights for up to 2 years. All you have to pay on the second flight is the taxes and fees, which are $5.60 one-way on a domestic flight.

To get a Companion Pass the traditional way, you need to earn 135,000 qualifying Rapid Rewards points or fly 100 one-way flights in a calendar year. Since Southwest credit card welcome bonus offers are considered qualifying points, signing up for a credit card or 2 is the quickest way to earn the Pass.

Once you have a Companion Pass, you can add a companion to any Southwest Airlines ticket as long as there are still available seats, and you’ll just have to pay the cost of the taxes and fees.

Hot Tip:

You can use the Southwest Companion Pass to travel anywhere Southwest flies, including popular vacation spots like Hawaii and the Caribbean.

Final Thoughts

A new limited-time promotion has rolled around, offering multiple ways to fast-track to earning the Southwest Companion Pass. You can earn double points on qualifying flights, triple points on qualifying business flights, and 2 points per $1 spent on Southwest credit cards when you register and complete all qualifying activity by the end of November!

I currently have a Companion Pass that expires on Sept. 30,2023. If I purchase a round trip tkt. to somewhere before Sept. 30th and take a Companion with me, will I still qualify for the Companion Pass from Jan.8,2024 – Mar.8,2024?

Hi Roland,

Yes, you should receive the promotion companion pass if you purchase a round-trip flight or 2 one-ways within the promotion window.

Would I still qualify for the Companion Pass if I book a flight that meets all requirements, but don’t actually take the flight?

Hi Charli,

No, you would need to actually take the flight for it to qualify for this promotion.
