Southwest Airlines is offering a promotional Companion Pass, but you’ll need to act fast. Here are the details:

Register for this promotion and book a flight by February 5, 2026.
Purchase 1 round-trip or 2 one-way tickets using cash, points, or Cash + Points.
Book flights after registering; you must register and book by February 5, 2026.
Existing flight reservations don’t qualify for this offer.
Travel by March 31, 2026.
Enjoy a limited-time Southwest Companion Pass valid from August 10 to October 7, 2026.

Only flights booked after registration count; flights taken as part of a Southwest Vacation package won’t count toward this promotion. Once you satisfy all of the requirements, you’ll get an email within 10 days confirming your promotional Companion Pass, which will include instructions on how to use it. Your promotional Companion Pass is valid for 2 months (August 10 through October 7, 2026).

You’ll know you registered correctly when you see a green checkmark next to the word “Registered.” Remember to do this before you purchase your flight; flights booked prior to registration won’t count.

What Is the Southwest Companion Pass?

The Southwest Companion Pass allows you to bring a companion on any Southwest flight you take for just the cost of the taxes and fees for the second ticket ($5.60 each way on a domestic flight). It applies to flights booked with cash or Southwest Rapid Rewards points.

Normally, to get a Southwest Companion Pass, you need to earn 135,000 qualifying Rapid Rewards points or fly 100 one-way flights in a calendar year. It’s valid for the rest of the year in which you earn it and the entire following calendar year. The Companion Pass is valid on any Southwest flight (even flights to Hawaii and the Caribbean), as long as there is a seat available.
