Chase and Southwest Airlines haven’t offered 100,000 bonus points on their co-branded credit cards since December 2021. Now you can earn that same 6-figure bonus with a much lower spending requirement.

All 3 of Chase’s consumer Southwest Airlines credit cards — the Southwest Rapid Rewards® Plus Credit Card, Southwest Rapid Rewards® Premier Credit Card, and Southwest Rapid Rewards® Priority Credit Card — are currently offering this new welcome bonus offer. The elevated welcome offer on these cards coincides with major changes to the Southwest Airlines cards announced today.

Let’s take a look at how these new bonuses fit into the overhaul to see if now is a good time to add one of these cards to your wallet.

New 100K Welcome Offer on Southwest Credit Cards

New applicants can earn 100,000 bonus Southwest Rapid Rewards points after spending $4,000 on purchases in the first 5 months from account opening. Since we value Southwest points at 1.3 cents each, a 100,000-point bonus is worth $1,300.

The same offer is available on 3 cards: the Southwest Plus card, Southwest Premier card, and the Southwest Priority card. This offer is available until September 17, 2025, but it’s not available on the Southwest small business cards.

The last time these cards offered a 100,000-point welcome bonus offer, it ended in December 2021. At that time, earning the full 100,000 points required spending $12,000 across 12 months. Put another way, it required spending $1,000 per month, on average, for a year. This new offer requires spending an average of just $800 per month for 5 months.

Hot Tip:

Remember that these cards also provide 10,000 Companion Pass-qualifying points to help you qualify for this extremely valuable buy one, get one flight pass.

Are These Offers Worth It?

These offers provide a great way to earn lots of Southwest points. However, Southwest Airlines has undergone significant changes this year, and it’s worth highlighting those while considering the offers on these cards.

Southwest ended its famous checked baggage policy under which everyone could check 2 bags for free. As of May 2025, many people have to pay for checked luggage with Southwest. Earlier this week, Southwest announced its impending policies regarding boarding groups and choosing seats in advance. The airline will also introduce extra legroom seats on flights.

Plus, today, Chase and Southwest announced major changes to these cards, altering the benefits and increasing the annual fees on these cards.

Take these changes into consideration as you consider the welcome bonuses available on the Southwest Plus card, Southwest Premier card, and the Southwest Priority card.

Bottom Line:

It’s been a big year of changes at Southwest Airlines, and more changes are coming with the introduction of assigned seating and extra legroom seats. Those are coming to flights in the near future.

Final Thoughts

Right now, new applicants for the Southwest Plus card, Southwest Premier card, and the Southwest Priority card can earn 100,000 bonus points by spending $4,000 on purchases within 5 months.

This is the biggest bonus we’ve seen on these cards in 4 years, and it requires much less spending than the last time you could earn a 6-figure bonus with Southwest’s personal cards.
