There’s some big news from SWISS this morning. The airline has announced new business- and first-class seats on its brand-new Airbus A350 aircraft — and the first long-haul destination it serves will be a major U.S. city.

There’s a lot to cover, so let’s get right into it!

‘SWISS Senses’ Rolling Out on A350

Swiss International Air Lines, the flag carrier of Switzerland, has announced that it will take delivery of the first of its new Airbus A350-900 aircraft in October.

The airline’s first long-haul destination with the new A350s will be Boston (BOS), with flights available from January 1, 2026. (SWISS will initially fly the jets to its European destinations.)

SWISS has redesigned its entire offerings — called SWISS Senses — from the front of the cabin to the back.

The aircraft will offer 242 seats: 3 in first, 45 in business, 38 in premium economy, and 156 in economy.

Arranged in a 3-3-3 configuration, economy seats feature a high-resolution screen, Bluetooth connectivity (to use your own headphones), and USB ports. Premium economy will offer nearly 36 inches in seat pitch, along with a 4K screen, Bluetooth connectivity, and a wireless charging station. These seats will be arranged in a 2-3-2 configuration.

But the real stars of the show are in first and business class. SWISS first class will feature closable sliding doors, a seat table, heating and cooling at the seat, a wireless charging station, and a massive screen display. For couples traveling together, the center suite can be configured to seat 2 guests. SWISS first class will also feature a private lavatory.

In business class, SWISS will offer several seating options, with some including sliding doors. All will include lie-flat beds and, like SWISS first class, feature in-seat heating and cooling plus a wireless charging station.

Bottom Line:

SWISS says all of its new A350-900s will be delivered with SWISS Senses cabin installed. The airline will “gradually” roll out SWISS Senses on its fleet of Airbus A330-300 and Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

Booking SWISS Senses

Tickets are on sale for SWISS’s new Airbus A350-900. You can see prices for the route in the screenshot below, costing nearly $6,000 for a one-way trip in business class from Boston to Zurich (ZRH) or $514 in economy.

You can expect to pay more than $15,000 one-way for a first-class ticket!

SWISS First

Luckily, you have plenty of options for booking SWISS flights with points and miles. As a Star Alliance airline, you can book through programs such as:

How much you’ll pay will depend on which program you use. For instance, you can find a business class ticket from Boston for 60,000 Aeroplan points one-way using the program’s distance-based award chart.

Unfortunately, SWISS blocks nearly all of its first-class seats from award bookings unless you have elite status in the Miles & More program.

Final Thoughts

SWISS is rolling out its gorgeous SWISS Senses product on its brand-new Airbus A350-900. What’s even more exciting is that the first long-haul route will come to Boston. Whether you’re in Boston or can get there by train or plane, it will be worth the journey to check out the new SWISS cabins.
