Uber One, the platform’s paid subscription service, has added several new features that will be appreciated by families in its latest update.

But there’s more to this update than just family-friendly additions. Here’s what you need to know.

Uber One’s New Features

The latest update from Uber One introduces several new features, including those designed for families, complimentary upgrades for riders, and holiday discounts.

First, Uber One is adding family sharing, which is available today. Members can now add 1 more adult and an unlimited number of teens to their account for no additional charge. Each will receive the full benefits of an Uber One membership. Plus, additional users will earn their own Uber One credits for rides they take.

To add family members to your account, navigate to the Account tab, then select Uber One and find Manage membership. Then, click Family sharing, where you’ll be able to add a user.

Next up is complimentary ride upgrades. Uber One members will get “prioritized upgrades” to a more premium ride, subject to availability. For example, if you request an UberX, you may be upgraded to an Uber Comfort or even an Uber Black ride for no extra cost. Similarly, if you book an Uber Comfort, you could be upgraded to an Uber Black.

Driver earnings won’t be affected by these upgrades, according to a press release from Uber. Additionally, the rideshare giant says that it plans to grant more than 1 million upgrades between December 2 and 25, 2025, so there’s a good chance you’ll get to ride in style this holiday season.

Finally, Uber One members can look forward to discounts this holiday season. From now through the end of December 2025, look out for discounts on Uber and Uber Eats.

You can get a 10% discount on Uber Black rides to and from airports between now and Thanksgiving, plus take advantage of a 30% discount on Thanksgiving necessities ordered via Uber Eats, including eggs, pies, and much more.

Don’t forget Black Friday: Uber One members can score a $25 discount on Uber Eats orders of at least $75, in addition to no delivery fees, from Best Buy, The Home Depot, DSW, and Lowe’s.

Finally, get a 15% discount on Uber and Uber Eats gift cards, plus 20% off on Uber Courier.

Why We Love Uber One

Uber One is a paid subscription service that provides extra perks on the platform, whether you’re taking rides or ordering meals. It costs $9.99 per month or $96 per year.

In addition to the new features announced today, the program also offers perks like $0 delivery fees on eligible Uber Eats and grocery orders, 6% back in Uber One credits on Uber rides, 10% back in credits on car rentals, and 10% off delivery and pickup Uber Eats orders. The savings stack up the more you use the platform.
