Hyatt announced on December 18 that it had entered into a long-term licensing agreement with The Venetian Resort Las Vegas.

Here’s everything you need to know.

Venetian Resort Las Vegas Coming Under World of Hyatt Umbrella

The Venetian Resort Las Vegas and The Palazzo at The Venetian Resort will soon be bookable with World of Hyatt points.

The move adds 7,000 rooms to Hyatt’s modest Las Vegas portfolio. The resort is located directly on the Las Vegas Strip and features Italian-themed rooms and suites, a day club, 2 casinos, and nearly 3 dozen dining options.

The resort will join the World of Hyatt program “in the near future,” though Hyatt did not mention an exact date. Additionally, members of the Venetian Rewards programs will enjoy World of Hyatt benefits.

This agreement answers a major question Las Vegas hotel lovers have been wondering since the fall: What chain would The Venetian Resort align itself with after leaving IHG One Rewards?

IHG announced during an earnings call in October that its partnership with the resort would cease at the end of 2024. The partnership, which spanned the past 15 years, dealt a blow to IHG One Rewards members as they lost an option to book stays at the resort with their points. Now, that partnership question has been answered.

Hyatt Rebuilding Its Presence in Las Vegas

However, World of Hyatt loyalists should rejoice at this news.

Since MGM’s breakup with Hyatt last year — and the MGM properties quickly forming a partnership with MarriottHyatt fans have had a dearth of properties to earn and redeem points in Sin City. Even Hyatt agrees that Las Vegas is a “perennial favorite” for World of Hyatt members. Chief Commercial Officer Mark Vondrasek said in a statement that members are requesting rooms “at a higher volume than pre-pandemic.”

“The licensing agreement with The Venetian Resort Las Vegas adds 7,000 rooms and 2.25 million square feet of meeting space, inviting Hyatt’s loyalty members and valued customers to have even more options to earn and redeem loyalty points when visiting Las Vegas,” Vondrasek said.

Bottom Line:

The Venetian Resort may be the latest Las Vegas hotel joining World of Hyatt, but it isn’t the only one. Last month, Hyatt introduced the Rio Hotel & Casino, the first Destination by Hyatt hotel in Nevada. The Category 3 hotel joined the Hyatt program after a $300+ million renovation.

Final Thoughts

This is extremely exciting news for Hyatt loyalists. The Venetian Resort Las Vegas is one of the most recognizable resorts on the Strip, offering high-end rooms, dining, and casinos.

We’ll keep an eye out on the resort and will update this post when we know more.
