Wells Fargo Rewards just gained another popular transfer partner this morning.

Starting today, cardmembers can transfer their Wells Fargo Rewards points at a 1:1 ratio to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club and Virgin Red. Both loyalty programs are owned by the Virgin Group, and points can be redeemed for flights, hotels, cruises, and other travel experiences through the travel brand.

Here’s everything you should know about the latest partnership.

Wells Fargo’s Newest Transfer Partner

Earlier today, a few staffers at Upgraded Points logged onto their Wells Fargo Rewards portal to find the new transfer partners already loaded to their accounts. You’ll find Virgin Atlantic Flying Club under the Airlines tab and Virgin Red under the new Travel & Experiences tab.

Although Virgin Red and Flying Club are technically separate, points can already be instantly transferred between the 2 programs at a 1:1 ratio. If you decide to make a points transfer to 1 program, know that you can easily transfer them to the other in a pinch.

Wells Fargo Rewards was first launched earlier this spring, debuting with its first-ever set of transferable partners. Here’s an overview of all of the issuer’s transfer partners:

Hot Tip:

How To Redeem Virgin Points

What can you do with Virgin Points? A lot, actually.

Virgin Atlantic Flying Club boasts some of the lowest redemption rates on flights to Europe — specifically to its major hub at London-Heathrow Airport (LHR). For instance, an off-peak flight from New York (JFK) to London (LHR) can be booked for just 10,000 Virgin Points and around $150 in taxes and fees. You can also redeem Virgin Points for premium economy and Upper Class tickets at reasonable rates.

It’s also a great option to use Virgin Points for SkyTeam partners, like Delta flights within the U.S. The redemption rates are often much lower than what Delta charges, giving you a way to book domestic tickets for a fraction of the cost.

On the other hand, Virgin Red frequently updates its dedicated rewards page for all the potential redemption options. Sometimes, there are limited-time promotions to book Virgin Voyages cruises for 2 people, and it will cost you roughly 100,000 Virgin Points. Several Virgin Hotels are bookable with points, too, giving you tons of flexibility for your rewards.

Final Thoughts

It’s great to see more value added to Wells Fargo Rewards, as Virgin Atlantic Flying Club and Virgin Red are already popular transfer partners of competing credit card programs. We hope to see more transferable point partners added in the future as Wells Fargo Rewards continues to grow its reach.
