World of Hyatt is out with its latest targeted promotions, though they’re only targeted to a small group of members.
With the “Seize the Night” offer, when you stay 2 stays at any Hyatt property worldwide, you’ll receive 10,000 World of Hyatt points, good for 2 free nights at any Category 1 property. With the “Welcome Forward” offer, you can earn 2 free night awards (valid at a Category 1-4 property) after 2 stays.
Let’s learn more about how to qualify for the promotions and how to best use the awards.
Targeted Promotions Each Offering 2 Free Nights
These new World of Hyatt promotions are targeted and not necessarily open to all World of Hyatt members. In fact, most members will likely not find themselves targeted, but it’s always worth checking your email to see if you’ve made the cut.
“Seize the Night” Promotion — 10,000 Points
The basic premise of the “Seize the Night” promotion is that if you complete 2 separate stays, you’ll receive 2 free nights’ worth of points, though the marketing behind the promotion is a little overzealous since the 2 free nights are really only 10,000 points, good for 2 nights in any Category 1 hotel.
On the first stay, you’ll receive 4,000 points and on the second stay, you’ll receive 6,000 points, for a total of 10,000 points. The points are awarded for a stay, which is defined as a check-in and check-out. This means it can be awarded on a single night hotel stay, or a stay lasting several days.
You’ll have 120 days to complete both stays — a relatively long period of time — which shouldn’t cause issues for most folks. It’s worth noting that stays need to be booked through Hyatt or a travel advisor to count; stays booked through a third party such as Expedia won’t count.
“Welcome Forward” Promotion — 2 Free Night Awards
A second promotion for 2 free night awards is also being targeted to select members.
The “Welcome Forward” promotion offers 1 free night award after your first eligible 2+ night stay and another free night award after your second eligible 2+ night stay.
Targeted members must register for this offer by May 20, 2022, and like the “Seize the Night” promotion, you’ll have 120 days to complete your eligible stays after registering. The free night awards are valid within 180 days of issue.

How To Best Use 10,000 World of Hyatt Points
World of Hyatt has recently moved to a dynamic award system, so while most Category 1 nights will cost 5,000 points, you’ll also find some off-peak days at 3,500 and peak days at 6,500. If you’re looking to book 2 peak nights with this offer, you’ll, unfortunately, be 3,000 points short, though keep in mind that you’ll also earn base points on both of your stays which can contribute to your total in your account. A Category 2 regular night costs 8,000 points, or, a Category 3 off-peak night costs 9,000 points, so there certainly is a variety of ways you can mix and match the awarded points.
You don’t need to use the points for a free night, either. You could use them toward a club upgrade, suite upgrade, or the points portion of a cash + points reservation.
Hot Tip: Learn about the best ways to redeem World of Hyatt points for maximum value!
To earn 10,000 points for a promotion that requires very limited effort is a decent award, though as we mentioned, the promotion seems to be highly targeted. It is likely aimed at users who tend to not frequent Hyatt, or whose business has dropped off in the past few years. Make sure to check your emails to see if you’re eligible for the promotion!
