Marriott is the largest hotel chain in the world, with more than 30 unique brands and over 7,000 properties worldwide.

Although some of Marriott’s brands are luxurious, a handful can provide a basic hotel experience with little out-of-pocket expense. One of these brands is Fairfield by Marriott, a well-known name worldwide.

Although not known for luxury, Fairfield by Marriott provides guests with a consistent hotel experience. These hotels can also provide a solid way to redeem Marriott Bonvoy points for a free stay.

In this guide, we will examine the Fairfield by Marriott brand, how to earn Marriott Bonvoy points, and some of the best Fairfield by Marriott properties you can stay at using points worldwide.

Everything You Need To Know About the Fairfield by Marriott Brand

Fairfield by Marriott is one of the best-known brands in Marriott Bonvoy’s hotel portfolio and its second-largest brand.

Marriott developed the brand in the late 1980s as a chain of economy hotels with limited service. Nowadays, it is considered an economic, midscale hotel brand.

Fairfield by Marriott is part of Marriott’s “select” brand of hotels, which focuses on fulfilling travelers’ needs while providing a consistent experience. With the Fairfield by Marriott brand, you know exactly what you get when you book.

The brand focuses on comfortable amenities with good value and targets guests willing to accept fewer amenities for lower prices. Although relatively basic, guests at Fairfield hotels can expect standard amenities like free hot breakfasts (though not at Asia Pacific Fairfield hotels), flexible workspaces, and wireless internet.

As of 2024, there are nearly 1,350 hotels in 19 countries, with more than four-fifths of the properties in North America. Unlike many of Marriott’s other brands that focus on the destination, Fairfield by Marriott hotels are everywhere, from big cities to small towns.

Marriott Bonvoy Credit Cards

Fairfield by Marriott is a member of the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program. This means you can earn and redeem Marriott Bonvoy points at its hotels.

There is an endless number of ways to earn Marriott Bonvoy points. However, the easiest way is with the many co-branded Marriott Bonvoy credit cards issued by Chase and American Express.
