Iberostar and IHG have partnered to bring up to 70 all-inclusive resorts to the IHG portfolio. Under the brand name Iberostar Beachfront Resorts, these properties are spread throughout the Caribbean, Mexico, South America, North Africa, and Europe.

IHG One Rewards members can now earn and use IHG One Rewards points at these Iberostar Resorts. That means they now have many more possibilities if they want to stay at an all-inclusive on points!

Here’s a look at 10 of the best and most popular Iberostar Resorts bookable through IHG.

IHG One Rewards and Iberostar Partnership

IHG didn’t acquire Iberostar. Rather, they entered into a partnership that began in late 2022. The first Iberostar hotels bookable through IHG were introduced in mid-2023. Once the integration is fully complete, 70 Iberostar resorts will be added to IHG’s portfolio.

The agreement has an initial term of 30 years, so it’s not going anywhere anytime soon.

Iberostar Beachfront Resorts

Iberostar Beachfront Resorts is a family-owned and operated company based in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, and that’s not changing. These resorts will continue to operate as usual throughout the partnership with IHG.

Iberostar’s core values of sustainability and making a positive change for the planet, including responsibly sourced seafood and limiting single-use plastics at the resorts, remain at the forefront.

Within Iberostar, there are a few brand distinctions to know about:

  • Iberostar: The core brand for all ages, offering fun resorts close to popular attractions
  • Iberostar Grand: All-suite, adults-only luxury
  • Iberostar Selection: All-ages luxury
  • Coral Level: A resort within a resort that offers an exclusive and secluded getaway

Which Iberostar Resorts Are Bookable Through IHG?

Currently, through the partnership between Iberostar and IHG, there are over 40 Iberostar resorts bookable through IHG. When the integration is complete, this number should total 70. This is great news for fans of the IHG One Rewards program, who previously didn’t have many options when it came to all-inclusive resorts.

Hot Tip:

Many Iberostar Beach Resorts properties are adjacent and share amenities. For example, there are 5 connected Iberostar resorts in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic: Iberostar Punta Cana, Iberostar Dominicana, Coral Level at Iberostar Selection Bavaro, Iberostar Selection Bavaro Suites, and Iberostar Grand Bavaro.

How To Book Iberostar Beachfront Resorts Through IHG

The way to book Iberostar Resorts through IHG works just like any other booking. Head to IHG.com and enter your destination, travel dates, and number of travelers. Iberostar Resorts will show up in your search results just like any other IHG brand. (You can filter by brand to just see Iberostar hotels.)

Next, decide on the room you want and whether to pay with just cash, points plus cash, or just points. You can toggle between the prices to choose the best before finalizing your booking.

Booking Iberostar wtih IHG points

Don’t forget that if you have an IHG credit card, you get the fourth night free on award stays. This benefit applies to the IHG One Rewards Traveler Credit Card, IHG One Rewards Premier Credit Card, and IHG One Rewards Premier Business Credit Card.

Is Booking Iberostar Resorts With Points a Good Deal?

According to our most recent valuations, IHG One Rewards points are worth around 0.5 cents each. During our research, we found many Iberostar resorts with low cash prices and high point prices, with a cents-per-point value of just under 0.3 cents. While that’s not great, we did find some examples that came in right around 0.5 cents per point.

What does that mean for you? If you want to get outsized value from your IHG One Rewards points, booking Iberostar resorts with points probably doesn’t make sense.

However, If your goal is to book an all-inclusive resort with IHG One Rewards points and you don’t care about the cents-per-point value, then go for it.

Regardless of the value you can get with your points, we always love more options when it comes to booking hotels with points.

Bottom Line:

The cents-per-point value of booking Iberostar Resorts with IHG One Rewards points is low, so you’re probably better off saving your points for a more valuable redemption. Instead, you can book Iberostar Resorts through IHG using a credit card that earns lots of points, like the IHG Premier card. This card earns 10x points at IHG properties (plus an additional 16x points as a Platinum Elite member, which is one of the benefits of the IHG Premier card).

The following Iberostar Resorts are some of the brand’s best and most popular locations bookable through IHG One Rewards. For each resort, we have listed the IHG One Rewards points range for 2 adults in 1 room. This is just a guideline of what you can expect — actual prices will vary.

Unfortunately, the price in points is still high, often resulting in a value of less than 0.3 cents per point, so this isn’t a great deal for IHG One Rewards points.
