Since my wife’s family lives in Toronto, I have visited the city more than 10 times over the last few years. During those visits, I have stayed at many of Toronto’s best hotels.

With another trip to Toronto planned and an expiring free night award from my Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card, I knew I had to redeem the certificate in Toronto or risk losing it. After narrowing down options, I booked the BISHA, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Toronto, a property in the heart of the city that joined the Marriott portfolio in 2025.

Here’s a look at my January 2026 stay at BISHA Hotel Toronto, and what you need to know about the property.

1. It’s an Excellent Use of a Marriott Free Night Certificate

Points redemption rates for the BISHA Hotel Toronto vary significantly, but the property can be booked for around 35,000 points on sporadic dates. For dates that require more than 35,000 points, Marriott also allows members to top off free night awards with up to 15,000 additional points.

Rather than redeem points for my booking, I redeemed the free night award from my Marriott Boundless card. It’s a solid rewards card, especially for those who frequently stay at Marriott-branded hotels. It earns up to 17x total points at hotels participating in Marriott Bonvoy and 3x points on the first $6,000 spent annually on combined purchases at grocery stores, gas stations, and on dining.

Marriott Bonvoy

The card also provides several enticing benefits, including automatic Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite status and 15 Elite Night Credits each year (toward higher status tiers). Cardholders can also earn Elite Night Credits toward Elite Status for every $5,000 spent on the Marriott Boundless card.

However, the most valuable (and my favorite) perk of the card is the free night award you earn each card anniversary. The free night award gives cardholders a reward night at any participating Marriott Bonvoy hotel (up to 35,000 points).

We value Marriott Bonvoy points at 0.7 cents each, making 35,000 points worth $245. However, the BISHA Hotel Toronto often offers cash rates of $279 to $329, which are significantly higher than the points value would dictate.

2. It Has a Prime Location in the Heart of Downtown Toronto

The BISHA Hotel Toronto is on Blue Jays Way, between King Street West and Wellington Street West, in Toronto’s Entertainment District. The neighborhood is filled with numerous mixed-use developments, high-rises featuring condominiums and residential towers, and high-end restaurants and nightlife venues.

The area around the property is extremely walkable, and the hotel itself is less than a 15-minute walk from many of Toronto’s most iconic sights and tourist attractions, including the Rogers Centre, the CN Tower, Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada, the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, the Roy Thomson Hall, the Royal Alexandra Theatre, and the Scotiabank Theatre Toronto.

Many of Toronto’s best hotels, including The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto, the InterContinental Toronto Centre, the Hyatt Regency Toronto, and the Sutton Place Hotel Toronto, are within a 5-minute walk of BISHA Hotel Toronto.

The property is also a 10-minute walk from the St. Andrews subway station, which connects you to other parts of Toronto easily. There are also several tram stops within a short walking distance of the hotel.

Hot Tip:

On-site valet parking at BISHA Hotel Toronto is $65 plus tax per night.

3. My Suite Was Modern and Luxurious

My room at BISHA Hotel Toronto was modern and luxurious. Although I booked a standard room, I was upgraded to a “The Andy” junior suite at check-in, thanks to my Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite status. This was a massive upgrade, considering this suite routinely sells for upwards of CA$650 (about $475) per night.

The suite was refined with tasteful, high-end furnishings throughout. As I entered the room, I walked down a long hallway that opened up to the suite’s main living area.

The left side of the room featured a king-size bed, which was extremely comfortable. The bed featured a plush, padded headboard and high-quality linens.

I loved the mirror above the bed, which also served as a decorative piece.

To the right of the bed was a large workstation with ample space to work comfortably. Unfortunately, the chair wasn’t comfortable enough to sit in for more than an hour at a time.

The suite also boasted a spacious living area with a large sectional sofa and a rounded glass dining table with 2 extremely comfortable seats. The walls also featured several interesting portrait artworks, which created a homey feeling.

The living area provided additional seating options and an overall intimate space.

Additionally, the room offered some incredible views of the streets around the hotel. However, the defining feature was the view of the CN Tower.

The room featured a generously-sized bathroom with elegant black marble finishes. The bathroom offered a separate room for the toilet and another for a massive walk-in shower, combining luxury, privacy, and practicality.

4. There Are Several Places To Eat and Drink

The BISHA Hotel Toronto features extensive on-site food and beverage options, including 2 of Toronto’s most popular and upscale restaurants.

Akira Back is a high-end restaurant that specializes in modern Japanese cuisine with authentic Korean flavors. It is named after its chef, Akira Back, who has restaurants in over 20 cities worldwide (including a few Michelin-starred winners).

The hotel’s rooftop restaurant, Kōst, is best known for its infinity pool and unparalleled views of the city and the lake. The restaurant serves traditional Californian food, inspired by the Baja Peninsula coast.

Kōst is one of Toronto’s best restaurants.

French Made is the hotel’s café, which serves coffee, pastries, and gourmet sandwiches. In the lobby is the Mister C cocktail lounge, which serves drinks and late-night snacks.

As a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite member, my wife and I received complimentary breakfast at Kōst. Although the hotel has a set breakfast menu, Platinum Elite (and higher) members have a special breakfast menu.

My wife and I could each choose coffee, tea, or juice to pair with our breakfast meal. I ordered the sunrise waffles, which featured strawberries, bananas, chocolate, hazelnut, and vanilla whipped cream.

My wife chose the breakfast sandwich, which featured a chorizo patty, scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, smashed avocado, pico de gallo, and chipotle mayo, served with rosti potatoes.

The food was delicious and served in generous portions. We plan to eat at the restaurant for dinner sometime in the future.

5. The Amenities Are Solid

A luxury property, BISHA Hotel Toronto offers guests numerous luxurious amenities, including a rooftop infinity pool, a fully equipped fitness center, and a steam room.

The rooftop infinity pool is seasonal and was closed for the winter during our stay. My wife and I plan to come back to experience it.

The pool was closed during our stay, but it offers incredible views.

The property also boasted a recently renovated, fully equipped fitness center open 24 hours a day. There was a variety of machines to choose from.

6. The Hotel Has a Delicious Epicurean Moment

Marriott’s The Luxury Collection brand features a concept called “Epicurean Moments,” which are curated culinary experiences such as private tastings, cooking classes, and cultural food tours chosen by each property. They vary significantly from hotel to hotel, but connect travelers with a destination’s flavors and traditions.

The BISHA Hotel Toronto’s Epicurean Moment, Sugar Rush, is held daily at 6 p.m. at the hotel lobby cocktail bar, Mister C.

The hotel offers guests a complimentary Sugar Rush cocktail featuring prosecco, maple syrup, honey, and blackberries, all sourced from the province of Ontario (where Toronto is located). The cocktail is on the sweet side, but it was absolutely delicious.

7. The Staff Members Are Tremendous

I found the staff and service at the BISHA Hotel Toronto to be among the best I have ever experienced. The staff was welcoming, responded promptly to my requests (including bringing a microwave to the room when my wife needed to warm up some food), and always greeted me by name.

The front desk and concierge members were all excellent, and we had lengthy conversations about hotel brands around the world. They were proud of the hotel and seemed to enjoy their jobs, going above and beyond to ensure my comfort.

At check-in, the front desk member told me they provide all guests who use points with a complimentary treat in the room. In our case, it was a box of macarons with a variety of flavors. Although a small gesture, they are always appreciated, as they differentiate good hospitality from great hospitality.

Final Thoughts

BISHA, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Toronto, is a tremendous property in the heart of downtown. Without a doubt, it’s one of my new favorite hotels in the city and is in an ideal location.

The location and property were terrific. I appreciated how welcoming the staff were, and I enjoyed the upgrade to a nice room with amazing views. The hotel offers numerous on-site amenities and dining options, including 2 of Toronto’s most popular restaurants.

This was one of my best Luxury Collection stays, and I would absolutely consider staying at the BISHA Hotel Toronto again, especially when redeeming Marriott Bonvoy points or a free night certificate. It offers a ton of value given the property’s high cash prices.
