The author traveled as a guest of Sailrock South Caicos. All opinions are the author’s own. The resort had no input in this review.

I have had the privilege and pleasure of visiting quite a few Caribbean resorts over the years and am, admittedly, quite picky about what I like and don’t like. There are so many good resorts, but they can often be very similar. Then there are those places that have that something extra that makes them truly unique.

Sailrock South Caicos is one of those places.

In Turks and Caicos on the island of South Caicos, Sailrock delivers quiet luxury in a secluded, lush setting. As part of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, Sailrock is bookable through Hilton Honors, which makes it more accessible to travelers who maybe couldn’t afford a resort like this or those who would rather pay with points than cash.

As much as I loved Sailrock, it’s not for everyone. It’s a quiet, remote property that’s ideal for relaxing away from the crowds (my kind of vacation). It offers incredible beauty, privacy, and a customized experience. But if you’re looking for a lively atmosphere, nightlife, tons of dining, and lots of daily activities, you should probably look elsewhere.

If you’re considering booking Sailrock South Caicos for your next vacation, you’ll want to know a bit more about the property first, so let’s jump in.

1. It Will Be Easier To Get to Sailrock in 2025

It was a bit complicated to get to Sailrock South Caicos during my stay in November 2024. We flew to Providenciales (PLS), which is the main island of Turks and Caicos. Once we landed there, we went through immigration and then took a 20-minute flight on InterCaribbean Airways to South Caicos. (There is also a ferry, which takes about 2 hours.)

Round-trip ground transportation from South Caicos Airport (XSC) is included, so that part was a breeze (the ride is about 15 minutes).

Sailrock is on the island of South Caicos.

Starting February 15, 2025, American Airlines will offer direct service from Miami International Airport (MIA) to South Caicos 2 times per week (on Wednesdays and Saturdays). This will make getting to South Caicos just as easy as getting to many other Caribbean islands.

If you’re still planning to fly into Providenciales (PLS), you’ll find direct flights from the U.S. (with some routes offered seasonally) on Delta, Southwest, American, United, and Sun Country.

Hot Tip:

If you fly into Providenciales, you need to take an island hopper flight to South Caicos, which is included in stays of 3 nights or more.

2. It’s Bookable Through Hilton Honors

Sailrock South Caicos is part of Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH), which recently partnered with Hilton (after ending a partnership with Hyatt). That means that SLH properties can be booked through Hilton with cash, Hilton Honors points, or a combination of both.

You can even use Hilton free night certificates at SLH properties as long as you can find standard award availability.

Standard rooms at Sailrock South Caicos cost 140,000 points per night. To have the best chance of finding availability, search for stays of 3 or more nights. We only found a couple of single nights available at the standard price, but we found wide-open availability when searching for 3 or more nights.

Note that every fifth night is free when you book a standard room award stay.

Hot Tip:

The Ridgetop Ocean View Suite is the room type that’s bookable with Hilton points at the standard rate (other room types cost an astronomical number of points, so you’re better off booking those with cash). These spacious rooms include a kitchenette and a large wraparound balcony with ocean views.

3. It’s Secluded in the Best Way Possible

If you’re interested in going somewhere that’s quiet and private, Sailrock is for you. You could easily enjoy a vacation there while only seeing a handful of other people.

Relaxing by my private pool … I could get used to this.

During my stay, there was never anyone in the main pool (probably because most rooms have their own pools), and there were only a few other groups of people at the beach or restaurants. With just a few dozen rooms and villas on the property, even at full capacity, the resort will never be crowded.

The resort’s infinity pool was never crowded.

Most villas have full kitchens and a private swimming pool, so you never need to leave your room if you don’t want to. I totally loved it, but if you prefer a party atmosphere, Sailrock won’t be your ideal destination.

Hot Tip:

The large villas at Sailrock South Caicos are ideal for families and friends traveling together. They have 1 to 4 bedrooms, full kitchens, and large outdoor spaces with private pools.

4. The Resort Will Customize Your Experience

When you stay at Sailrock, almost anything is customizable. You can add butler service or concierge service to your room. You can have a chef cook a private gourmet dinner in your villa (ours was delicious), get an open-air couples massage (75 minutes for $180), or have groceries ordered and delivered before you arrive. You can even have a sunbed set up on the private beach in front of your villa, with a cooler packed with your favorite drinks and snacks.

This was one of the most spectacular settings for a massage.

The resort staff will go out of their way to create the vacation of your dreams.

One of my favorite activities was a private ATV and kayak tour (from $150 per person). It was my first time on an ATV, and I really enjoyed it. Our guide, Ben, took us around the Sailrock property and up to the north peninsula of the island. It’s a practically deserted area, which made the experience really cool.

We had such a fun time riding ATVs around the property.

After exploring South Caicos for a bit, we hopped in kayaks to paddle out to a sandbar. Wading in water that was just inches deep, I walked around, searching for sand dollars and enjoying the total seclusion. If you’d like to stay out at the sandbar for longer (I would definitely recommend doing this), the resort can bring a cooler and umbrella out so you can relax for a few hours.

Hot Tip:

Book your stay directly with Sailrock South Caicos for travel through December 20, 2025, to receive a $400 resort credit on stays of 5 nights or longer using promo code PBF24. This credit applies to all accommodations except the Patio and Ridgetop Ocean View Suites.

5. There Are 2 Beaches

There are 2 beaches at Sailrock South Caicos (1 on the Caribbean side and 1 on the Atlantic side), and guests can enjoy complimentary water activities like snorkeling, paddleboarding, and kayaking.

The main beach is right next to the Cove Restaurant and Beach Bar. The restaurant’s menu includes Caribbean-inspired dishes and rotates frequently to take advantage of seasonal offerings.

We enjoyed having lunch delivered to our lounge chairs.

There’s another beach on the other side of the resort. This was the side of the property that my villa was on. It’s a bit rougher and doesn’t have chairs set up, but the resort is happy to arrange that (and will even pack a cooler for you) if you’d like to enjoy this secluded beach.

Final Thoughts

Sailrock South Caicos sits on a secluded peninsula with views of both the Atlantic and Caribbean, offering guests a one-of-a-kind experience. It’s an incredible destination if you’re looking for a quiet, luxurious vacation. Whether you book a room with Hilton points or decide to splurge on a large multiple-bedroom villa (a fantastic option if you want to travel with friends or family), your experience will be customized just for you.
