Card Snapshot

The Capital One Venture X card offers numerous benefits to the savvy cardholder — and even though it comes with a hefty annual fee, the value you’d get every year from this card honestly makes the annual fee look like a rounding error.

Every year, you will get a $300 Capital One Travel credit and an anniversary bonus of 10,000 miles (which we value at $180). These 2 benefits alone will make you come out ahead in light of the annual fee.

The Capital One Lounge is a breed of airport lounge that made a huge splash when first unveiled.

The inaugural location in Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) boasts a large selection of fresh hot and cold food, as well as a craft cocktail bar.

There’s also a grab-and-go section with cold-pressed juice, flavored sparkling water, sandwiches, and snacks that you can take with you on your flight!

Perhaps even more impressive is the selection of artisanal coffee by La Colombe and Cultivar, available even on tap as a cold brew beverage or latte.

The lounge has a barista bar for fresh espresso drinks, Dilmah tea is on offer, and various soft drinks are on tap.

The rest of the lounge consists of shower suites, an exercise room, relaxation rooms, a nursing room, a prayer room, and restrooms.

Indeed, the Capital One Lounges are making the Centurion Lounges look like child’s play, and the only card that grants access for no additional cost is the Capital One Venture X card.

The third location opened in Denver (DEN) in November of 2023.

Capital One Landing is a collaboration with chef José Andrés, now open at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) and soon to open at LaGuardia Airport (LGA).

Visitors can enjoy an elevated restaurant-style experience with access to power outlets, Wi-Fi, and luggage nooks.

Cardholders enjoy entry for no additional cost.

The existing Capital One Lounge network is about as small as it gets — in recognition of this, the Capital One Venture X card also offers Priority Pass access to participating lounges, after enrollment.

Due to activation delays, you may have to wait up to 2 weeks after your Capital One Venture X card is approved to activate your Priority Pass benefit, so keep that in mind.

After activation, you’ll receive your Priority Pass membership card in the mail, and you can also create a digital membership card so you don’t need to present the physical card every time you access a participating Priority Pass location.

Priority Pass gets you access to over 1,300+ participating airport lounges across nearly 150 countries around the world.

Depending on which lounge you access, you can get free food, drinks, Wi-Fi, and sometimes even shower suites.

Note that the Capital One Venture X card no longer has access to Priority Pass non-lounge experiences like restaurants, spas, etc. as of January 1, 2023.

The Value of Lounge Access

Having airport lounge access is pricey — for example, it’s not unusual to see airport lounge access memberships costing upwards of $600 per year!

That means just one of these memberships will probably cost more than your credit card’s annual fee.

For travelers, it makes a ton of sense to get the right credit card that comes with lounge access.

Let’s take a look at how the Capital One Venture X card offers spectacular value for different types of travelers.

Those Who Need Access to Multiple Lounges

If you’re considering adding the Capital One Venture X card to your wallet, you should know that this card offers some of the most generous lounge access privileges, so even if a Capital One Lounge or Landing is not in your area, you’re covered.

At Capital One Lounge and Landing locations, you are entitled to unlimited visits every year as long as you have a same-day boarding pass. The same is true at participating Priority Pass Lounges.

Business Traveler

One of the biggest value propositions for the Capital One Venture X card is for business owners who may frequently be on the road.

If you travel for business, having lounge access could mean fast Wi-Fi, being able to enjoy hearty meals on to go, freshening up with a shower before an important meeting, and even networking in the lounge!

And if your business takes you to many different places, the Priority Pass membership has you covered with its 1,300+ participating locations around the world.

Business travelers can also leverage Hertz President’s Circle status, and the ability to earn up to 10x miles on purchases.

Hot Tip:

The Capital One Venture X Business Card has the same lounge access benefits as the Capital One Venture X card.

Leisure Traveler

As a leisure traveler, there’s nothing worse than having to wait for your flight in a crowded airport.

Your vacation is supposed to be stress-free, and one of the ways to reduce the stress is by having lounge access while traveling.

By making use of your airport lounge access, you can extract even more value from your credit card.

Lounge access isn’t just reserved for business travelers!

The Capital One Venture X card is one of the most popular credit cards. Between the excellent rewards and travel perks, it’s easy to see why travelers love it.
