Each lounge offers, at minimum, comfortable seating and complimentary food and drinks, and many have additional features such as kids rooms, game rooms, outdoor space, taprooms, nursing rooms, shower suites, relaxation rooms, and more.

How much does it cost to enter a Chase Sapphire Lounge?

If you don’t hold the card, expect to pay between $75 and $100 for a visit. With Priority Pass, your first visit per calendar year is complimentary, and subsequent visits are $75 each. The Chase Sapphire Reserve^® has been around for about a decade. Since its launch in 2016, its lounge benefits have changed but still remain generous. In fact, the Chase Sapphire Reserve card offers one of the best lounge policies, ideal for families and groups traveling together who want to access airport lounges.

This post shares notable lounge policy changes the Chase Sapphire Reserve card has undergone from 2016 to 2026 — and what we predict may change in the future.

As of 2026

Presently, the Chase Sapphire Reserve card offers access to its own Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club, Priority Pass Select membership with access to over 1,300 Priority Pass lounges worldwide, access to select Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounges, and a myriad of other benefits we deem worth at least $7,000.

Here’s what you need to know about the Chase Sapphire Reserve card’s current lounge policies.

Priority Pass Access

Chase Sapphire Reserve card members get a complimentary Priority Pass Select membership, which means they can access over 1,300 Priority Pass lounges around the world with 2 complimentary guests (though this is subject to individual lounge policies). Since most lounges allow infants and children up to a certain age to enter for free, a family of 4 may be able to access a Priority Pass lounge if just 1 member has a Chase Sapphire Reserve card.

Beyond the first 2 guests (who can enter for free), any additional guests have to pay $27 to enter a Priority Pass lounge. That’s a deal, considering you may have to pay up to $35 per guest with other credit cards.

Note that the authorized user fee for a Chase Sapphire Reserve card is $195, but authorized users get their own Priority Pass membership, subject to the same conditions as primary cardholders (such as the ability to bring in 2 complimentary guests).

Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club Access

Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club locations are among the most luxurious airport lounges, and Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders can access them, along with 2 complimentary guests.

Similar to the aforementioned Priority Pass benefits, additional guests cost $27 each, and children under 2 enter for free. Authorized users can also access these lounges with 2 complimentary guests.

Maple Leaf Lounges and Air Canada Cafés

Both primary cardholders and authorized users can access Air Canada’s network of Maple Leaf Lounges and Air Canada Cafés in Canada, the U.S., and Europe when departing on a Star Alliance member airline flight with 1 guest. Each additional guest costs $59 at U.S. lounges, CA$59 at Canadian lounges, £59 in the UK, and €59 in Europe.

However, not all lounges are included — cardmembers can’t enter Air Canada Signature Suites or any lounges in Montréal (YUL).

Hot Tip:

Lounge access is becoming more restrictive across the board, but for now, the Chase Sapphire Reserve card has maintained its lounge policies, including generous guest and authorized user access.

Chase Sapphire Reserve Card’s Lounge Access Change History

The Chase Sapphire Reserve card has always offered some form of lounge access, but policies have evolved over the past decade, and Chase has launched its own lounges. Here’s a timeline of lounges and access policies from 2016 until the present.

2016: Card Launch

The Chase Sapphire Reserve card launched on August 23, 2016, with an annual fee of $450 and a collection of travel benefits, including a complimentary Priority Pass Select membership, which, at the time, provided access to over 900 airport lounges with unlimited guests.

2018: Lounge Access Guest Restrictions

The card’s generous guest policy remained in place through 2017 and until August 26, 2018, when Chase downgraded it, stating that cardholders (and authorized users) could bring only 2 guests into Priority Pass lounges, and each additional guest would cost $27. This policy remains the same today, and we’re hoping it won’t change anytime soon, as many credit cards are restricting lounge access for cardholders and authorized users to limit crowding.

2022: First Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club Launches

Lounge access policies remained static over the years, and the next change was good news for Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders: The issuer launched its very first Chase lounge.

On October 25, 2022, Chase launched its first Chase Sapphire Lounge by the Club in Terminal 1 of the Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) on October 25, 2022. Sadly, this lounge closed in January 2026, but its opening spurred the expansion of domestic Chase-branded lounges in the years that followed.

2023: Chase Opens Its First Domestic Lounge

On May 11, 2023, Chase opened its first domestic lounge: the 11,640-square-foot Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club at Boston (BOS), home to 2 wellness rooms, a private nursing room, shower suites, and restrooms with Apotheke toiletries.

2024: Chase Continues Expanding Its Lounge Portfolio and Adds Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounges

Chase continued its rapid lounge expansion in 2024, with the Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club with Etihad Airways at JFK and LaGuardia (LGA) lounges opening in January, the Phoenix (PHX) lounge opening in November, and the San Diego (SAN) lounge opening in December (Source: Chase). Cardholders could also access the Etihad Lounge at Washington, D.C. (IAD).

In late 2024, Chase Sapphire Reserve cardmembers gained access to Air Canada lounges, offering complimentary food and drinks, comfortable seating, and various spaces for rest, work, dining, and rejuvenation.

2025: Chase Continues Lounge Push and Card Undergoes Major Refresh

Chase continued to expand its lounge portfolio, with new Chase Sapphire by the Club locations opening at Philadelphia (PHL) and Las Vegas (LAS). This was (and still is) great news for Chase Sapphire Reserve cardmembers, who now have more options than ever to visit Chase-branded airport lounges throughout the country.

More importantly, in mid-2025, the Chase Sapphire Reserve card underwent a major overhaul, including raising its annual fee and adding many new benefits. Although the card saw major changes, none affected its lounge access policies or rules, which remained the same.

2026: Some of the Best Card Lounge Access Policies

The Chase Sapphire Reserve card lounge policies remain especially notable at a time when card issuers such as Amex and Capital One are downgrading and restricting lounge access.

As of mid-2026, there are 8 Chase Sapphire Lounges by The Club, including the 2 Etihad-Chase collaborations (Source: Chase).

2027 and Beyond: More Chase Sapphire Lounges To Come

Chase Sapphire by The Club Lounges are under construction at both Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) and Los Angeles (LAX), which we’ll hopefully see open in 2027. I suspect Chase will further expand its lounge portfolio in the coming years, hopefully to both domestic and international locations.

The lounge access policies on the Chase Sapphire Reserve card are still generous (not as generous as the once-offered unlimited guests, but still!), and I sincerely hope that, given the card’s high annual fee (currently $795), it will maintain these benefits and not cut guest access.

Final Thoughts

Considering the Chase Sapphire Reserve card has been around for about a decade, its lounge policies haven’t changed all that much, though the number of complimentary guests has been reduced since the card’s initial launch. Chase has also focused on the card’s ever-growing collection of Chase Sapphire by The Club lounges, which is excellent for consumers, as cardholders now have more airport lounges to choose from across the U.S.
