Chase Ultimate Rewards

It’s true that many other credit cards offer lounge access, but very few make it easy for families to actually use that access. Between guest limits, fees, and tightening restrictions across the industry, bringing multiple people into a lounge has become harder. That’s where the Chase Sapphire Reserve Card stands out.

Priority Pass Access (Plus 2 Guests)

Cardholders have access to over 1,300 Priority Pass lounges worldwide and can bring 2 guests each time. Some lounges may even allow children up to a certain age to enter for free. For example, this means you might even be able to bring in an infant and a 2-year-old, plus 2 additional guests, though this is subject to individual lounge policies.

After 2 guests enter complimentary with the cardholder, any additional guests are $27 each. Meanwhile, some other cards charge $35, so those with large families or many guests can save here.

If you have a larger family, it might be worth adding your spouse or partner as an authorized user on your Chase Sapphire Reserve card for $195. They get their own Priority Pass membership, with the option to bring 2 guests for free.

Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club Access (Plus 2 Guests)

If you have the Chase Sapphire Reserve card, you get access to any Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club with up to 2 guests. Additional guests cost $27, and children under 2 can enter for free. If you pay to add an authorized user, this cardholder also gets access to these lounges with 2 guests.

Many Chase Sapphire Lounges by The Club offer family-friendly amenities that can make traveling as a family less stressful, such as kids’ rooms, game rooms, nursing rooms, and dedicated family spaces.

  • Boston Logan International Airport (BOS): Between terminals B and C, near gates B39 and B40, expect highlights like a family room, private rest pods, massage chairs, and a taproom with local beers.
  • Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW): Coming soon
  • Harry Reid International Airport (LAS), Las Vegas: In Terminal 1 near gate C23, this lounge has local roasts from Dark Moon Coffee Roasters, a Champagne parlor, and specialty dishes from Momofuku.
  • Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Los Angeles: Coming soon
  • New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK): In Terminal 4 after security above gate A2, this Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club with Etihad Airways has cocktails, reflection rooms, and reservable shower rooms.
  • New York LaGuardia Airport (LGA): This lounge is in Terminal B and has bookable facial treatments from Face Haus, a nursing room, a family room, and private rest pods.
  • Philadelphia International Airport (PHL): Set in the Terminal D/E connector, this lounge has a game room, nursing room, kids’ room, bookable facial treatments from Face Haus, and private rest pods.
  • Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX): This lounge, in Terminal 4 South 1 Concourse, features a retrofitted Airstream food truck and an indoor patio terrace.
  • San Diego International Airport (SAN): Complete with bookable facial treatments from Face Haus, private rest pods, a nursing room, and a family and kids room, this lounge is in Terminal 2 on the mezzanine between gates 46 and 47.
  • Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD): A 2-level Etihad Lounge in collaboration with Chase, this space, in Concourse A near gate A14, features a wine list, cocktails, showers, a reflection room, and a family room.

Maple Leaf Lounges and Air Canada Cafés (Plus 1 Guest)

Chase Sapphire Reserve primary cardmembers and authorized users get access plus 1 guest each to Air Canada’s network of Maple Leaf Lounges and Air Canada Cafés in Canada, the U.S., and Europe when departing on a Star Alliance member airline flight.

Exclusions include Air Canada Signature Suites and all lounges in Montréal (YUL). Additional guests each cost $59 at U.S. lounges, CA$59 at Canadian lounges, £59 in the UK, and €59 in Europe.

Although you can bring only 1 complimentary guest, it’s still a nice benefit for smaller families. Or, if your spouse is an authorized user or a Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholder, you can each bring 1 child, which is ideal for a family of 4.

Bottom Line:

You’re able to access several lounges with the Chase Sapphire Reserve card, including Chase Sapphire Reserve lounges, Maple Leaf Lounges, and Air Canada Cafés.

Other Family-Friendly Benefits of the Chase Sapphire Reserve

Lounge access is the headline benefit, but several other useful benefits make this card especially great for families.

$300 Travel Credit

The card’s $300 statement credit for travel purchases can benefit anyone, but families who value flexibility stand to gain the most from this perk. They might want to book an Airbnb, stay at a luxury hotel, pay the taxes and fees on an award ticket, or purchase a budget flight on a low-cost carrier — all of which would be eligible for the travel credit.

Strong Travel Protections

The Chase Sapphire Reserve card offers some of the most comprehensive travel protections available on any credit card, including:

  • Primary car rental insurance and trip cancellation and interruption benefits — up to $10,000 per person, per trip, up to $20,000 per occurrence, and up to a maximum of $40,000 in a 12-month period
  • Trip delay insurance, which could pay up to $500 per purchased ticket per trip for unreimbursed incidentals, lodging, and meals if your flight is delayed
  • Lost luggage reimbursement (up to $3,000 per person, per trip)
  • Baggage delay protection, which provides reimbursement for essential items (such as clothing and toiletries) if your flight is delayed by more than 6 hours or overnight ($100 per day for up to 5 days)

It also includes roadside assistance, emergency evacuation and transportation, travel accident insurance, travel and emergency assistance, and emergency medical and dental benefits. If you’re traveling with a family, these travel protections and benefits can be exceptionally helpful if something disrupts your vacation.

TSA PreCheck and Global Entry Credit

Cardholders receive up to a $120 credit for either service. The cool part is that once you are approved for Global Entry, you can apply for your children at no extra cost. And, if you have TSA PreCheck, kids ages 17 and under can go with you in the TSA PreCheck lanes for free.

Having these fast-track services during a family trip can make plans go much more smoothly. Both Global Entry and TSA PreCheck have saved my family so much time over the years (and surely many, many toddler meltdowns from waiting in long lines).

Additional Benefits Families Can Use

A few other perks stand out for families:

  • 2 annual credits for prepaid bookings with The Edit ($250 each)
  • Earning 4x points on airlines and hotels
  • Earning up to 8x by booking on Chase Travel
  • Earning up to 2 cents per point when redeeming with Chase Points Boost for hotel and airline bookings

Other Flexible Rewards Cards Don’t Measure Up

You might think there are plenty of other top travel credit cards that offer lounge access, but as cards have been updated and as benefits change, lounge policies have become much stricter. This is excellent for anyone worried about overcrowding, but it’s not the best news for families, as it often limits the ability to bring guests into lounges.

For example, in early 2026, the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card tightened its lounge policies, affecting guests and authorized users. Around the same time, cardholders of The Ritz-Carlton™ Credit Card lost the ability to bring unlimited guests into Priority Pass lounges.

Starting in July, cardholders of the Platinum Card® from American Express and The Business Platinum Card® from American Express won’t be able to bring guests who aren’t traveling on the same reservation into the coveted Centurion Lounges. And fan-favorite cards such as the American Express® Gold Card and the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card never offered lounge access in the first place.

Runner Up: Citi Strata Elite℠ Card

The Citi Strata Elite card is a runner-up for family lounge access. Cardholders (and authorized users) receive Priority Pass access with 2 guests, along with 4 annual passes to American Airlines Admirals Club lounges. Adding an authorized user costs just $75 annually. Primary cardholders also receive 4 passes per year to American Airlines Admirals Clubs.

Beyond lounge access, the card also includes:

  • A $300 credit on 2-night hotel stays booked in Citi Travel
  • Easy ways to earn Citi ThankYou Points
  • Up to $200 annual Splurge Credit to use on brands such as American Airlines
  • Up to $200 annual Blacklane credit, which can be helpful for family transportation to and from airports

While competitive, it still falls slightly short of the Chase Sapphire Reserve card when it comes to overall lounge flexibility.

Final Thoughts

If you frequently travel with family, the Chase Sapphire Reserve card should be a top choice for your wallet. Between generous guest policies, growing lounge access, and practical travel perks, it makes traveling together easier — and can help kick off a family vacation with an easy, hassle-free start. It also offers other benefits (such as statement credits) that can save you money and time when traveling together.
