If you’re a business owner with significant monthly expenses, it can make economic sense to earn rewards on every purchase your business makes. Rewards, especially in the form of cash-back, can be used to offset expenses or invest back into the business.

But you may find it difficult to secure a business credit card that will earn elevated rewards on business expenses without the restriction of annual limits. Some business credit cards, for example, offer elevated earnings on expenses up to just $50,000, or even $150,000 each year, but few offer unlimited elevated earnings.

Today we’ve selected the Ink Business Premier® Credit Card as our featured card because of its unlimited elevated earnings on every purchase, and also because it offers a long list of additional benefits that may add value to your business.

Join us as we look at all the reasons to consider this new Chase business card offering, and a few limitations you should be aware of.

Earning Potential

Rest assured that all of the purchases your business makes will earn cash-back. Here’s how the Ink Business Premier card earns rewards.

2. Earn on Every Purchase [$2,000]

Every purchase will earn at least 2% unlimited cash-back. If you use the card for $100,000 in business expenses, you’ll earn at least $2,000 cash-back.

3. Earn More on Large Purchases [$500]

For purchases of $5,000 or more, you will earn 2.5% cash-back. If your business makes a lot of large purchases, this additional cash-back could make a difference in the amount of additional rewards you will receive over time. Just 4 such purchases would earn a total of at least $500 cash-back.

4. Elevated Cash-back on Travel Purchases [$500]

Make your business travel purchases via Chase Travel and receive 5% cash-back on every purchase. $10,000 of business travel purchases would earn $500 in cash-back.

Bottom Line: The Ink Business Premier card earns 2% cash-back on every purchase, 2.5% cash-back on purchases $5,000 and up, and 5% cash-back on travel purchases via Chase Travel.

Redemption Options

Cash-back on the Ink Business Premier card is earned as bonus points. Here are your options for redeeming those points. The value of each specific redemption option will vary.

5. Redeem for Cash-back

There is no minimum points redemption. Redeem your points for cash-back as a statement credit or have the amount transferred to your Chase savings or checking account.

6. Redeem for Travel

Bonus points earned on your card can be redeemed for travel at the rate of 1 cent each via the Chase Travel portal.

7. Shop With Points

While shopping with points is not a good redemption value, you can redeem rewards earned on your card for 0.8 cents per point for shopping at Amazon or via PayPal.

8. Redeem for Gift Cards

Redeem your points for gift cards, but watch for sales where you may receive up to a 10% discount.

Unlike other Chase Ultimate Rewards-earning cards, points earned on the Ink Business Premier card cannot be transferred to other premium Chase cards, or to airline or hotel partners.

Bottom Line: The best value for redeeming points earned on the Ink Business Premier card is cash-back, but you have other options such as travel via the Chase travel portal, shopping via Amazon and PayPal, and redeeming for gift cards. Unlike other Ultimate Rewards points-earning cards, points cannot be transferred to other cards or travel partners.

Travel protections and benefits can provide peace of mind and save you money during your travels. Here are some of the key travel perks you’ll find on the Ink Business Premier card.

9. Primary Car Rental Insurance [$200]

Reserve and pay for your entire car rental with your Ink Business Premier card, decline the rental agency’s CDW/LDW coverage, and receive primary car rental coverage when renting for business or outside of the U.S. and secondary coverage for personal rentals in the U.S. Primary car rental insurance provides coverage for damage and theft of the rental car and does not require you to file a claim with any other applicable insurance before card coverage kicks in.

Car rental daily insurance coverage can run $20 per day. If you had just one 10-day rental each year, you could be saving $200.

10. Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption Insurance [$100]

If an eligible trip, paid for with your card, has to be canceled or is interrupted due to a covered reason, you could receive up to $5,000 per trip for prepaid, non-refundable expenses.

11. Trip Delay Reimbursement [$100]

If your trip is delayed more than 12 hours or overnight, you could receive reimbursement of up to $500 per ticket.

12. Baggage Delay Insurance [$100]

If your baggage is delayed more than 6 hours, you’ll get reimbursed up to $100 per day, a maximum of $500, for eligible incidentals.

13. Roadside Dispatch [$50]

For 1 pre-determined reduced price per service call, you can receive limited towing, standard winching, jumpstart service, tire changing of inflated spare, lockout service, and emergency fuel. Any services over and above the offered services will be charged to the card.

14. No Foreign Transaction Fees [$60]

If your business involves making foreign transactions, having a card that does not charge foreign transaction fees can save you as much as 3%. $2,000 in foreign transactions would save you $60.

15. Travel and Emergency Assistance Services [Value Varies]

Receive 24/7 assistance while traveling for emergency transportation services, translation referral services, medical or legal referrals, help with passport replacement, and more. The cardholder is responsible for the actual services received.

Bottom Line: The Ink Business Premier card comes with several travel protections and benefits such as primary car rental insurance, trip cancellation/interruption/delay insurance, baggage delay insurance, roadside dispatch, no foreign transaction fees, and travel/emergency assistance services.

17. Purchase Protection [Value Varies]

For eligible items purchased with your card that have manufacturer’s warranties of 3 years or less, you will receive 1 additional year.

19. Chase Offers [$100]

Bottom Line: The Ink Business Premier card comes with valuable shopping protections and benefits such as cell phone protection, purchase protection, extended warranty, and Chase Offers.

Card Account Management Tools

Managing your business expenses is made easier with these card account management tools, protections, and benefits. The value of account management tools to your business can vary widely.

20. No-Cost Employee Cards

Add trusted employees to your card account for no additional fee. Manage employee expenses by setting spending limits and monitoring transactions with online access. You, and your company, are responsible for charges made by employees as authorized users.

21. Pay in Full

Purchases made on the Ink Business Premier card are required to be paid in full each month. Paying in full can help your business avoid debt and keeps credit lines open for additional expenses.

22. Pay Over Time

With the Flex for Business option, you can choose to pay your balance back over time with interest (see table above for current APR rates). Flex for Business has limits on the amount of purchases that qualify for the flexible payment benefit and not all purchases are eligible. Any purchases that do not qualify must be paid in full each month.

23. Fraud Protection

Your Ink Business Premier card has automatic real-time fraud monitoring. You’ll also have 24/7 access to the fraud alert line if you think you’ve been the victim of fraud. Use online account fraud protection management tools to review transactions or file a report.

24. Zero Liability Protection

Have peace of mind that unauthorized use of your card is covered under zero liability protection. This protection does not apply to authorized users.

25. Account Alerts

Manage your card account by setting up alerts to notify you of unusual activity such as when a large or suspicious purchase is made or when payments are due.

Final Thoughts

If your business makes a lot of large purchases or has significant overall expenses, the Ink Business Premier card could be a consideration for ensuring all of those purchases receive accelerated earnings. If you prioritize receiving cash-back on a large volume of business expenses over redeeming rewards for travel or have other cards earning travel rewards, it could be an especially good choice.

The true value of this cash-back card can be found in the earning potential for businesses that have high expenses.

If you prefer to earn travel rewards on your business expenses or want to have flexible travel redemption options, the Ink Business Premier card may not be a fit and you should consider an alternative business credit card.

There are alternative business credit cards, many with lower annual fees, solid earning structures, and flexible redemption options, that may be a better choice for your business situation.
