Are you looking for a vacation rental? British Airways has been coming in hot with promotions offering extra Avios for these kinds of stays. Now, a new promotion is offering triple points on Vrbo bookings this summer. Let’s take a look at the promotion details and additional ways to maximize your points.

Offer Details

British Airways Vrbo promotion

Vacation Rentals By Owner (Vrbo) is an Airbnb competitor offering full-size vacation home rentals. Although these properties can be pricey, British Airways’ newest promotion can help take off some of the sting:

  • Earn 3x Avios per £1 spent (or currency equivalent) on Vrbo bookings
  • Must book through the dedicated offer page
  • There is no published end date for this offer

This promotion exists in addition to the one offering 4.5x Avios on Airbnb stays, so it’s definitely worth comparing between sites to see which one fits your needs.

Is It Worth It?

If you’re looking for a full-size home rental and don’t want to go with Airbnb, this is a pretty compelling offer from British Airways. It’s a little concerning that there’s no published end date for this offer, so if it’s something that you’d like to take advantage, it’s better to jump on it sooner rather than later.

We value British Airways Avios at 1.25 cents each, which means you’ll be getting a 3.75% return rate on your booking by going through this link.

Make this even better by combining this with a card that earns bonus points on travel purchases, like the Chase Sapphire Reserve® which earns 3x Ultimate Rewards points on all travel. We value Chase points at 2 cents each, meaning you’ll get an additional 6% return on your stay — for a net return of 9.75% overall. Not bad!

Hot Tip: If you’re not finding what you’d like on Vrbo, consider taking a look at Marriott’s Homes & Villas which allows you to earn and redeem Marriott Bonvoy points on vacation rentals.

Final Thoughts

British Airways has been launching a variety of promotions this summer with partners such as Airbnb and Vrbo. This newest one, which will reward you with 3x Avios per £1 spent at Vrbo, makes for a pretty enticing option for those looking to rent a vacation home. Make sure to stack this offer with a credit card that earns bonus points on travel for maximum earnings. Be aware that there is no published end date for this offer, so if it’s something you’re looking at, be sure to take advantage sooner rather than later!
