American Airlines’ refreshed premium credit card is now live, and applicants for the Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive World Legend Mastercard® can take home 125,000 miles thanks to a new welcome offer.

We’ve seen 100,000-mile welcome offers on this card several times before, but now there’s a new, larger offer available to coincide with the card’s new perks, new name, and higher annual fee.

Let’s take a look at this new offer and the details of the updated AAdvantage Executive card to see if it’s worth applying.

Earn 125K Miles With the AAdvantage Executive Card

New applicants for the AAdvantage Executive card can earn 125,000 bonus miles after spending $15,000 in purchases within the first 5 months of account opening. This welcome offer requires an average of $3,000 in purchases per month for 5 months to earn the bonus AAdvantage miles.

We value AAdvantage miles at 1.4 cents each. That makes 125,000 miles worth $1,750. Against a $15,000 spending requirement, that’s an 11.67% return on spending.

Hot Tip:

Benefits of the Refreshed AAdvantage Executive Card

As of today, August 23, 2026, the AAdvantage Executive card has a new name, new benefits, and a higher annual fee, which has increased from $595 to $695.

The card’s headline benefit remains its built-in Admirals Club membership. Holding the AAdvantage Executive card is cheaper than paying for a lounge membership directly, and cardholders can bring up to 2 guests or immediate family members.

New benefits on the card include:

  • Updated earning structure: Earn 12x miles on eligible AAdvantage Hotels and AAdvantage Cars bookings.
  • New Loyalty Point milestones: Earn 10,000 bonus Loyalty Points after achieving 50,000, 90,000, 165,000, and 240,000 Loyalty Points within the same status qualification year, allowing you to earn up to 40,000 bonus Loyalty Points each year.
  • Omni Hotels & Resorts: Automatic Champion status, the second-highest tier, and earn a free night after completing a stay of 2+ nights.
  • Avis elite status: Enroll in complimentary President’s Club status (requires enrollment by August 31, 2028).
  • Up to $500 in statement credits each calendar year for eligible American Airlines Vacations packages or experiences purchases.
  • Earn up to $100 back in statement credits each calendar year for inflight and eligible Admirals Club purchases.
  • Earn up to $180 in Lyft statement credits annually. After taking 3 rides in a month, cardholders earn a $15 statement credit toward Lyft purchases.

Ongoing cardholder benefits include these:

  • Free first checked bag on domestic flights for the primary cardholder and up to 8 companions traveling on the same reservation
  • Priority check-in and security screening (at participating airports) for the primary cardholder and up to 8 companions traveling on the same reservation
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • Cardholder protections like trip delay, cancellation, and interruption protection, lost baggage protection, and global car rental insurance
  • Access to World Legend, The Mastercard Collection, and Mastercard Priceless experiences
  • Up to $120 in statement credits annually for eligible prepaid Avis or Budget car rentals booked through avis.com or budget.com
  • Up to $120 statement credit every 4 years that covers the enrollment fee for either TSA PreCheck or Global Entry

Some benefits are ending, though. Those include the up-to-$120 Grubhub credit and the 25% discount on inflight purchases, which will end in the future for existing cardholders but won’t be available at all for new applicants.
