In the U.S., Mastercard offers Standard, World, World Elite, and World Legend cards, each with a set of standardized benefits. The first World Legend Mastercard, the Citi Strata Elite℠ Card, hit the U.S. market in 2025, and there are still only 3 World Legend Mastercards available. This is Mastercard’s highest-tier credit card, offering premium benefits such as Priority Pass airport lounge access, concierge service, and a Soho Friends membership from Soho House.

In addition to the benefits offered by Mastercard, issuers typically offer more benefits, such as statement credits, complimentary elite status, and airport lounge access. World Legend Mastercards tend to offer a mix of high-end perks catered to frequent travelers.

We’ll look at the perks you get with a World Legend Mastercard in your wallet and the best World Legend Mastercards that you can apply for right now, including their benefits, welcome bonus offers, and rewards.

Top 10 World Legend Mastercard Benefits

All World Legend Mastercards include a handful of standardized benefits that make traveling less expensive and more comfortable. These include the following:

  1. Priority Pass and Taste by Priceless lounge access: Access to airport lounges worldwide, though availability may vary by card
  2. Trip cancellation and interruption insurance: Coverage for eligible prepaid travel
  3. Trip delay reimbursement: Reimbursement for meals, lodging, and other essentials after long delays
  4. Baggage delay and lost luggage insurance: Reimbursement for delayed or lost baggage
  5. Travel accident insurance: Coverage for serious injury or death while traveling
  6. 24/7 concierge service: Travel, dining, and events bookings and hard-to-get restaurant reservations
  7. Global emergency assistance: Lost card replacement and emergency support abroad
  8. Exclusive dining and entertainment access: Presales, priority reservations, events
  9. Mastercard Collection and Priceless experiences: Curated travel and cultural perks
  10. Purchase protection and extended warranty: Coverage for eligible purchases

Some of these benefits are also found on lower-tier World and World Elite Mastercards. Furthermore, some issuers may not offer some of the benefits listed above with their World Legend Mastercards. Be sure to check your World Legend Mastercard’s benefits guide to see the most accurate list of benefits for your credit card. In most cases, however, you can expect the majority of standard benefits to be included on your World Legend Mastercard.

Bottom Line:

World Legend Mastercards are the highest-end version of Mastercards and include premium benefits such as travel insurance, airport lounge access, and exclusive dining and entertainment access. That said, you might find some of these benefits on lower-tier World and World Elite Mastercards, too.

Different Levels of Mastercard Benefits

Mastercard offers 4 tiers of credit cards in the U.S.: Standard, World, World Elite, and World Legend. Each tier offers different benefits, with higher-tier cards providing the most travel benefits. However, there are some benefits — such as zero liability for fraudulent purchases — that apply to every Mastercard tier.

Here’s a look at the benefits included with each type of Mastercard.

Standard Mastercard Benefits

Standard Mastercards offer relatively limited benefits and are primarily focused on preventing fraud and identity theft. That said, these benefits can come in handy if your credit card is ever lost or stolen, as you’re not liable for any charges fraudulently made on your account.

  • ID theft protection: Get assistance if you’re ever a victim of identity theft.
  • Zero-liability fraud protection: You’re not responsible for unauthorized activity on your card. Terms apply.
  • Mastercard Global service: Get help if you lose your card, even if you’re traveling abroad.
  • Mastercard Music and Entertainment: Get exclusive access to ticket presales across the U.S. through March 31, 2027.
  • HealthLock: Receive complimentary access to HealthLock’s Medical Claim Monitor service.
  • Instacart: New members get free delivery with Instacart+ for 3 months, plus $10 off their second delivery of the month, through January 31, 2027.
  • Mastercard transit benefit: Get $2.50 in credit after tapping an eligible card to ride certain public transportation systems in the U.S., including the Chicago Transportation Authority, Port Authority Trans-Hudson in New York and New Jersey, and others. You must spend at least $10 per month with these transit providers to receive the credit.

These benefits are valuable if you’re ever a victim of identity theft or have your credit card stolen. Mastercard’s Instacart benefits can make grocery delivery cheaper, and HealthLock access ensures you’re not overpaying for healthcare services.

World Mastercard Benefits

World Mastercards are midtier Mastercards that offer exclusive access to events and some travel benefits. Benefits may vary by card, so check your card’s terms and conditions for more information. Additionally, all World Mastercards have all the benefits of standard Mastercards.

  • Priceless experiences: Access to cultural, culinary, and sports experiences in over 45 destinations around the globe. Examples of experiences include chef-led dining in Bogotá, Colombia, exclusive tickets to Broadway shows in New York City, and skipping the line at Dubai’s Burj Khalifa observation deck.
  • Mastercard music and entertainment access: This benefit offers presales and preferred tickets at various venues in the U.S., including Brooklyn Bowl Nashville, The Capitol Theatre in New York, and San Francisco’s August Hall.
  • Mastercard Golf: Get access to golf championships and access to courses in the U.S., Canada, Scotland, and other countries.
  • Mastercard Travel: Receive perks and discounts when you book through Mastercard’s travel portal.
  • Lyft discounts: Charge 3 Lyft rides to your World Mastercard in any given month and get a $5 credit toward your next ride.
  • Expanded Instacart discounts: Get 3 months of Instacart+ and $10 off your second Instacart delivery of the month.

Consider using these benefits the next time you’re buying concert tickets or planning your next vacation. You may be able to get a hefty discount or get access to something you wouldn’t have been otherwise able to book.

World Elite Mastercard Benefits

World Elite is the former top-tier Mastercard and powers many premium credit cards, including the popular Citi Strata Premier℠ Card. These cards have all the standard and World Mastercard benefits, plus the following key benefits:

  • Cell phone coverage: Pay your cell phone bill with your World Elite Mastercard and your phone is protected against damage for up to $800 per claim. You can make 2 claims, up to $1,000 per year.
  • Trip cancellation and interruption insurance: This reimburses prepaid and nonrefundable travel expenses if your trip is canceled or cut short for covered reasons such as illness.
  • Trip delay reimbursement: This benefit covers expenses such as meals and hotel stays if your trip is delayed for covered travel disruptions.
  • Baggage delay insurance: This benefit reimburses essential purchases like clothing, toiletries, and a phone charger if your checked baggage is delayed.
  • Lost or damaged baggage coverage: This benefit reimburses you for lost, stolen, or damaged baggage while traveling.
  • Purchase protection: This benefit covers eligible new purchases against damage or theft for a set period.
  • Extended warranty protection: This benefit extends the manufacturer’s warranty on eligible items purchased with your Mastercard.
  • World Elite Concierge: Get 24/7 access to a concierge agent who can help you make travel bookings, buy concert tickets, and make hard-to-find restaurant reservations.
  • Mastercard Travel rewards: Get cash-back on certain travel experiences worldwide. You must register your eligible World Elite Mastercard to take advantage of these benefits.
  • Priority Pass: Access over 1,700 airport lounges around the world with an included Priority Pass membership. Note that many World Elite Mastercards do not include this benefit, so check with your card issuer to see if it’s offered for your card of choice.
  • Peacock discounts: Charge your monthly subscription to your World Elite Mastercard and get a $3 discount on Peacock Premium or Peacock Premium Plus.

These benefits can go a long way when you’re traveling somewhere new. A concierge can make procuring an otherwise impossible restaurant reservation easy, thanks to Mastercard’s relationships with popular eateries. Likewise, the included travel insurance and purchase protection benefits can save you thousands of dollars if you need to make a claim.

World Legend Mastercard Benefits

Mastercard airport dining experience
Taste by Priceless lounge in Hong Kong. Image Credit: Mastercard

World Legend Mastercards have largely the same benefits as World Elite Mastercards. However, World Legend Mastercard holders may have higher priority for some benefits. But with so few World Legend Mastercards, it’s hard to quantify how much priority you actually get with these cards.

There are 2 benefits unique to World Legend:

  • Soho Friends membership is a $130-per-year subscription service that offers members discounts on Soho House hotel rooms and at its publicly accessible restaurants around the world. It also includes discounts on Soho Home products.
  • Taste by Priceless airport lounges have launched in Hong Kong (HKG) and São Paulo (GRU), with a location in Mexico City (MEX) expected to open soon. Cardholders get complimentary access for themselves and 3 guests.

We don’t recommend choosing a Mastercard solely because it’s a World Legend Mastercard. Instead, look through the benefits included with the credit card you’re considering applying for. Banks can cherry-pick which Mastercard benefits to include on their cards and add their own travel and lifestyle benefits, point earning rates, and other perks.

The Palladium Card is one of the 3 Bilt 2.0 cards that launched in February 2026. It’s the highest-end card of the trio, including premium travel benefits and 2x points on all nonhousing purchases. It has a $495 fee (rates & fees), but it can be well worth it for those in the Bilt Rewards ecosystem.

Here’s why the Palladium Card is one of our favorite World Legend Mastercards:

  • It earns 2x Bilt Points on everyday spending and gives you the option to earn 4% Bilt Cash on all purchases (offer terms). Up to $100 of Bilt Cash earned rolls over to the next year.
  • You can redeem points at a rate of 1.25 cents per point through Bilt Travel.

Hot Tip:

Bilt Points are among the most valuable transferable points currencies available. Though we value Bilt Rewards points at 1.8 cents each, it’s easy to get more than double that when you leverage these partners.

Final Thoughts

With so many types of Mastercards, it can be tough to know which benefits each offers. But if you have or want to get a World Legend Mastercard, you can rest assured that it has the most benefits, since it’s the highest-tier Mastercard out there.

But don’t let the World Legend Mastercard label oversell a card’s benefits. It’s up to the issuing bank to decide which benefits are included with a credit card. Some banks add valuable benefits, such as statement credits, while others may remove standard World Legend Mastercard benefits.

A maximum benefit amount and certain restrictions and limitations apply. Please review the Bilt Palladium Card Mastercard Guide to Benefits for details.
