Aer Lingus is adding another U.S. city to its route map — and it’s an interesting one. The Irish flag carrier will launch flights from Dublin (DUB) to Pittsburgh (PIT) next spring.

Here’s what to know about Aer Lingus’ new route to the Steel City.

Aer Lingus Launches New Flights to East Coast City

Aer Lingus announced on December 11 that it would start nonstop flights from its Dublin (DUB) base to Pittsburgh (PIT).

Flights will begin on May 25, 2026, and will operate 3 times per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Here’s a look at the schedule:

Depart Pittsburgh (PIT) at 8:40 p.m. and arrive inDublin (DUB) at 8:40 a.m.
Depart Dublin (DUB) at 4:10 p.m. and arrive in Pittsburgh (PIT) at 7:10 p.m.

Aer Lingus will fly its Airbus A321LR aircraft on the route. The airline will fly PIT-DUB year-round, though it will pause service between the 2 cities in January and February.

Pittsburgh International Airport, which announced the news, said this was the first time the 2 cities have been connected with regular, nonstop scheduled flights.

While Aer Lingus‘ decision to choose Pittsburgh as its newest U.S. destination might raise some eyebrows, the choice makes sense.

Irish immigrants who came to the city to escape the Great Famine in the 1800s helped rebuild it after a devastating fire, and today there’s a sizable Irish-American population in Pittsburgh.

Earlier this fall, the Pittsburgh Steelers played the first-ever NFL regular-season game in Dublin because the team’s owners have roots in Ireland. Aer Lingus is also an official airline of the Steerlers. Plus, several major Pittsburgh-based businesses have operations in Ireland.

Because Dublin is a preclearance airport, passengers arriving at PIT won’t have to undergo immigration and customs inspections after landing in the U.S.
