Air Canada just announced a major expansion at its Toronto Pearson (YYZ) hub.

Starting in summer 2027, the airline will launch nonstop flights from Toronto to Oslo (OSL), Shannon (SNN), and Nice (NCE) — 3 European destinations — plus a new year-round route to Guatemala City (GUA). Toronto to Shanghai (PVG) is also increasing frequency to a daily flight, and the popular London Heathrow Day-tripper is returning.

Here are the details and how to book these flights, which are currently on sale.

Air Canada’s Summer 2027 Expansion

Air Canada will be the only North American carrier flying nonstop to Norway, with service running 4 times a week between June 2 and October 10, 2027, according to a press release. The route will use the new Airbus A321XLR with lie-flat seats in Air Canada Signature Class.

This route is still subject to government approval and will operate on the following schedule:

Shannon is Air Canada’s second Irish destination after Dublin, and no other airline flies nonstop between Canada and Shannon. Flights operate 3 times a week from June 10 to October 2, 2027, also on the A321XLR with lie-flat business class.

Nice picks up twice-weekly service on Wednesdays and Saturdays from June 16 to October 23, 2027. This route uses the larger Airbus A330-300, which has 3 cabins: Signature, Premium Economy, and Economy. Combined with Air Canada’s existing Montreal-Nice flights, this means the carrier offers daily nonstop service from Canada to the French Riviera.

Guatemala City is the only Latin America addition. The route launches in early December 2026 as a seasonal service, then converts to year-round starting May 6, 2027. It’s a once-weekly Thursday flight on the A330-300, operating on this schedule:

The Toronto-London Heathrow Day-tripper is the fun one for anyone who hates red-eyes. It becomes Air Canada’s fifth daily Toronto-Heathrow flight starting May 1, 2027, and runs year-round on the A321XLR. You leave in the morning and arrive in London in the evening, ready for a real night of sleep.

Toronto to Shanghai also bumps up to daily service. That’s in addition to previously announced Toronto winter routes to Quito (UIO), Tenerife (TFS), Manchester (MAN), and Copenhagen (CPH). Air Canada also confirmed that its first Toronto-based Boeing 787-10 arrives at the end of this year, with more route announcements to follow.

How To Book Air Canada’s New Flights

All of these flights are on sale now at aircanada.com, through Air Canada Contact Centers, and via travel agents.

You can also book any of these routes with Aeroplan points. Air Canada uses dynamic award pricing, so the number of points required can vary significantly depending on the route and demand. But Aeroplan does not impose carrier surcharges on Air Canada award tickets, which can help keep the cash cost of a redemption down.

If you don’t have Aeroplan points, you can transfer at a 1:1 ratio from Amex Membership Rewards, Bilt Rewards, Capital One miles, Chase Ultimate Rewards, and Rove Rewards. That gives you a lot of ways to top off an account before booking.

Final Thoughts

This is a strong expansion for anyone based in or connecting through Toronto. The day-tripper coming back is also a nice quality-of-life win for anyone tired of arriving in London on no sleep, while the route to Oslo gives Air Canada bragging rights for exclusivity.

If any of these routes fit your 2027 travel plans, it’s worth pricing them out now while award space is fresh.
