Additionally, you must book one of these fare types: Business Class flexible, Business Class lowest, Premium Economy flexible, Premium Economy lowest, Premium Rouge flexible, Premium Rouge lowest, Economy Latitude, comfort, Economy Flex, and Economy Standard.

Your first flight (in either a one-way or round-trip booking) must depart from Canada during this promotion. Additionally, only new reservations made after registration will earn double points.

Bonus points earned during this offer are not status-qualifying points.

Is It Worth It?

When flying with Air Canada, you’ll earn Aeroplan points based on the type of ticket you purchased and how far you’re flying. Earning rates on international flights range from 25% to 150% of the flight distance.

We value Air Canada Aeroplan points at 1.5 cents each, and booking an eligible flight could push your earnings up to 50% to 300%, depending on the type of ticket you purchase.

It could be worth checking Air Canada’s flight deals page to see what’s available. Or, if you were already eyeing a trip, booking after you register for the 2x points promotion could be valuable.

Aeroplan points are relatively easy to earn since the program is an American ExpressCapital One, Chase, and Marriott transfer partner.
