Delta Adds Sports 24, SWISS Menus, Singapore Airlines’ New Cabin Reveal, and More Airline News

After a week filled with multiple major airline headlines, we’re back with more news you might have missed.

We’ll cover the loss of 2 long-haul routes from the Northeast, a new IFE channel from Delta, new routes from Allegiant, as well as updates from major global airlines such as Korean Air, Singapore Airlines, and SWISS.

Northeast Airports Lose Nonstop Flights to Honolulu and Lima

The East Coast is about to lose 2 nonstop connections. United will axe its nonstop service from Newark (EWR) to Lima (LIM), Peru, as of March 27, 2027. This will leave Delta‘s route from JFK to Lima as the only nonstop service from the New York area to the Peruvian capital.

Delta is also cutting Boston’s (BOS) only nonstop service to Honolulu (HNL) — a route it’s set to relaunch in December this year. The new schedule reduces this mammoth 5,000-mile domestic flight to a short seasonal service ending on January 5, 2027.

Delta Partners With Sports 24 for Live Inflight Viewing

Starting this fall, sports fans on some Delta flights will be able to enjoy live sports thanks to a new deal with Sports 24. The partnership will bring uninterrupted live sports watching to passengers on all of Delta’s long-haul international flights. To tune in, passengers will need a Delta SkyMiles account to connect to Delta’s in-flight Wi-Fi.

Singapore Airlines New Business and First Reveal Gets Closer

Singapore Airlines is one of the last major luxury airlines to upgrade its premium cabins. Thanks to a tip-off to Executive Traveller, we can now expect to learn more about the specifics of its upcoming business and first class seats.

The upgrade will see completely refreshed cabins on its fleet of Airbus A350s, including the ultra-long-range A350s that operate the world’s longest flight from Singapore (SIN) to JFK. The ULRs are also likely to feature a bespoke first class cabin.

The first retrofitted Airbus A350 from the delayed multi-million-dollar project is now expected to enter service in early 2027.

Allegiant Airways Adds More Florida Connectivity

Flint Bishop International Airport (FNT) in Michigan will have more connectivity to Florida thanks to Allegiant Air. The ultra-low-cost carrier will add year-round, nonstop services to Orlando International (MCO) on February 10 and to Fort Myers (RSW) on February 11, 2027. Allegiant’s new routes will be the only nonstop flights from the region to the popular Florida vacation destinations.

Korean Air Rolls Out Starlink

Korean Air is the latest airline to offer unlimited free Starlink Wi-Fi to its passengers. The initial installation will focus on its widebody Airbus A350-900 and Boeing 777-300 aircraft that operate long-haul international routes to the U.S. and other global destinations. The Korean flag carrier plans to complete the fleet-wide rollout by the end of 2027, and after its merger with Asiana is complete.

SWISS Details New Menus for First and Business Class

SWISS‘ next regional 3-month menu rotation will feature delights from the medieval Canton of Schaffhausen. As of September 2, passengers in first and business class can choose from dishes created by 3 chefs from a Michelin-starred restaurant in the town of Schaffhausen. In first class, highlights include Catalan fish soup, beef short rib bourguignon, and caramel flan.

In business class, smoked salmon tartare, hake, and a pistachio tartlet have been added to the menu.

Huaka’i by Hawaiian Adds More Benefits for Members

Huaka’i members flying Alaska or Hawaiian Airlines have new benefits. When flying to a neighboring island, Huaka’i members now get 2 complimentary checked bags. Additionally, Quarterly Neighbor Island discounts can now be used for up to 6 friends or family flying on the same booking. And finally, members will now earn 3x more Atmos Rewards points when shopping at 32 Foodland stores across the state of Hawaii.

Final Thoughts

With this week’s cabin updates, new routes, new loyalty benefits, and new menus, there’s a lot to look forward to in the not-too-distant future. It’s a shame that the Northeast will lose 2 unique routes, but that’s just the nature of the airline business. As for Korean Air’s Starlink, I’m hoping it’ll be installed on the Boeing 777-300 I’m flying to Seoul at the end of September.
