Everyone loves Amex Offers, which are deals linked to your cards and allow you to earn statement credits or bonus Membership Rewards points.

Now, American Express is offering a way to save money on purchases with Alaska Airlines when booked directly through the airline.

Let’s take a look at what you need to know!

Amex Offer Details

If you have a flight coming up soon, check your Amex cards. There’s a new Amex Offer for a $40 statement credit after spending $200 or more with Alaska Airlines.

Tickets must be booked directly through the airline’s website or mobile app (iOS, Android) to get the statement credit. Rest assured, though, you’ll still be able to enter your frequent flyer number to earn Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles with the reservation.

The offer expires on December 31, 2024, so you’ll want to book your tickets before that date.

Some Alaska tickets can be booked inexpensively, which can be a quick and easy way to meet the terms of the Amex Offer. You can also meet the $200 minimum spend requirement with 1 (or more) purchases.

This Amex Offer is valid on Alaska purchases, such as airfare, fare upgrades, seat selection, and baggage fees. Ineligible purchases include flight and hotel packages booked through Alaska Airlines, inflight spend, flights booked via third parties and electronic gift cards, hotel, car services, packages and travel insurance purchased via the Alaska website, insurance, Alaska trips, Alaska Lounge membership, Alaska Lounge merchandise, and day passes, and purchases of points or miles.

Hot Tip:

Upgraded Points staffers saw the offer on a wide variety of cards, including The Platinum Card® from American Express, the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card*, and the American Express® Gold Card. You’ll want to check across all of your Amex cards (if you have several) to see if you were targeted for the offer. Finally, remember to click Add to Card before making your purchase because you won’t get credit for the spend if you forget this step.

Final Thoughts

Amex Offers are an easy way to save money on otherwise expensive purchases, and this new flight offer for $40 back after spending $200 or more with Alaska Airlines is a formidable deal.

Make sure to book by December 31, 2024, to take advantage, and if you don’t see the offer on one card, check any other Amex-issued cards you may have.
