Low-cost Allegiant Air announced plans to launch 3 new nonstop routes, connecting 5 cities nationwide, on September 9.

The new routes include service to a brand-new city: Burbank (BUR). That will be welcome news for those about to lose a low-cost airline option out of BUR in the near future.

Let’s take a look at Allegiant’s expansion.

Allegiant Launches Burbank Flights

Allegiant Air will launch several new routes nationwide, beginning in February 2026. Here’s a look at what Allegiant is planning for early next year:

“This growth underscores our commitment to providing leisure travelers with more options to reach the destinations they love and strengthens our position as a leader in offering value-oriented air service,” said Drew Wells, Allegiant Air chief commercial officer.

Burbank is a new destination for Allegiant. Budget travelers often use the airport as a lower-cost option than flying from the nearby (and much busier) Los Angeles (LAX). Several other low-cost airlines, such as Frontier Airlines and Avelo Airlines, have operations there. However, Avelo will be pulling out of the airport — and the West Coast entirely — by the end of this year, so Allegiant’s arrival will be good news for local travelers.

Founded in 1999, Allegiant is known for flying between underserved markets. Budget travelers and those based in smaller cities are typical Allegiant customers. The airline serves over 120 airports in the U.S., including major destinations like Las Vegas (LAS) and Newark (EWR).

Booking Allegiant’s New Flights

Flights are now available, with one-way tickets between Burbank and Provo starting at around $39. It’s a pretty good deal, especially considering that Allegiant is the only airline servicing the 2 cities.

However, note that since Allegiant is a budget airline, you’ll need to take into account other ancillary expenses, such as seat selection and baggage fees.

Final Thoughts

Allegiant Air will start a handful of new routes early next year, including to an entirely new destination, Burbank, starting in February. Allegiant’s low-cost model may not work for everyone; however, if you’re based in a city served by the airline, its new routes should be welcome news.
