Low-Cost Carrier Allegiant Is Now Selling Its Upcoming First Class Seats

Low-cost Allegiant has made a name for itself by offering (mostly) inexpensive fares on less-than-daily flights between underserved cities and popular vacation destinations throughout the U.S.

However, the carrier recently announced that it would bolster its onboard offering, including the somewhat surprising news that it would offer a first class product for the first time.

Now, it’s begun selling first class seats on some routes starting early next year. Let’s take a look at where you can book them, how much it will cost, and what you can expect as an Allegiant first class flyer.

Allegiant First Class Seats Now on Sale

Last month, we reported that Allegiant would begin serving complimentary soft drinks, juices, and water on all flights, which began at the beginning of August. But another part of that news was the carrier’s plan to introduce an all-new first class product, called Allegiant First, that would begin flying next year.

The airline plans to debut Allegiant First on routes from Punta Gorda (PGD) in Florida beginning in March 2027, and its forthcoming Boeing 737 MAX jets will be delivered with the product. The Points Guy reports that it expects to have a total of 23 aircraft equipped with Allegiant First, so it won’t be ubiquitous on all planes and routes.

To find a flight with Allegiant First, you’ll have to use a bit of trial and error. Use the carrier’s calendar function to quickly click through dates with available flights. If Allegiant First is on that flight, you’ll see a tab marked “Allegiant First” in your fare options.

We found a few routes and dates with Allegiant First available, like this flight from Punta Gorda to Grand Rapids (GRR), Michigan, in late April. The standard economy experience costs $290 one-way, while an Allegiant First ticket costs more than double that at $662 one-way.

If you step up to Allegiant First, you can expect the following inclusions:

Larger recliner seat with 5 inches of recline and 37 inches of pitch
Priority check-in and boarding
Complimentary carry-on bag
Complimentary checked bag up to 70 pounds
No change fees and fully refundable ticket
USB power
Complimentary snacks and drinks

Of course, fares vary by date and route, so you’ll want to do your research and compare prices before booking a ticket. However, Allegiant’s standard fares don’t include much, and its baggage fees can be steep. Depending on the price, it could be worth booking a ticket in first, especially if you’re traveling with a lot of luggage.

Allegiant’s soon-to-launch first class is now on sale, though you’ll have to do a bit of hunting to find a ticket. If you want to try the product for yourself, look for routes from Punta Gorda starting in March of next year.

Hopefully, the carrier will ultimately decide to install the product on more of its fleet so flyers can have more opportunities to step up to Allegiant First.
