[Expired] Amex Offer: $200 Back After Spending $850+ on Qualifying Hotel Stays

Amex Offers are deals that allow you to earn either statement credits or Membership Rewards points for purchases.

There’s a new Amex Offer for stays at Fine Hotels & Resorts and The Hotel Collection that you may be targeted for — let’s take a look!

Offer Details

Fine Hotels & Resorts is American Express’ flagship hotel program that offers elite-like perks for little to no additional cost.

Through November 12, 2022, there’s an Amex Offer for a $200 statement credit after spending $850 or more in prepaid purchases made at Fine Hotels & Resorts and The Hotel Collection properties.

Note that your reservations must be booked at AmexTravel.com to meet the terms of the Amex Offer. Only The Platinum Card^® from American Express, The Business Platinum Card^® from American Express, and the Centurion^® Card from American Express cards issued in the U.S. are eligible for the offer.

Several Upgraded Points staffers saw the offer on their Amex Platinum card — be sure to check all your Amex-issued cards (if you have more than one) to see if you were targeted for the offer. If you are targeted, remember to click Activate Offer before your purchase because otherwise, you won’t get credit for the purchase.

Car rental or cruise bookings, online chat transactions, flight bookings, flight+hotel packages, gift cards, and travel insurance bookings are excluded.

There doesn’t appear to be a geographic limit on which FHR or The Hotel Collection properties you can book, as we’ve seen with other Amex Offers in the past.

This could be a great way to shave off the price of an expensive hotel stay, such as the Equinox Hotel in New York City, which costs around $1,200 per night, or The Savoy in London, which costs about $1,040 per night in November.

You could also book a Hotel Collection stay (minimum of 2 nights) at the SAii Lagoon Maldives, a Curio Collection hotel in the Maldives, for just $400 per night for early November dates.

• Guaranteed 4 p.m. late checkout
• Noon check-in, when available
• Complimentary Wi-Fi

The Hotel Collection is a group of hotels offering premium benefits on stays of at least 2 nights at select properties worldwide. Travelers who book these stays receive:

• $100 credit to spend on qualifying dining, spa, and resort activities
• Room upgrade at check-in, if available

Additionally, Amex Platinum cardholders receive a $200 credit each year when booking with Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts or The Hotel Collection, which appears to be able to be stackable with this Amex Offer.
