Booking tickets in lie-flat seats to Japan can be quite pricey if you aren’t using points and miles, and finding business class award space to Japan can also be hard to come by.

Enter ZIPAIR, where you can book a lie-flat seat to Japan for a far more affordable price — but also with a much more bare-bones experience when compared to business class on other carriers.

If a comfortable seat matters most to you, here’s how you can save money on your next ZIPAIR flight.

Book a Flight With ZIPAIR, Get $100 Back

This offer allows you to earn a $100 statement credit after you spend $500 or more in 1 or more purchases with ZIPAIR by January 15, 2025.

Here are the important terms and conditions to be aware of:

  • Enrollment is limited. Eligible card members must add the offer to their card and use that card to purchase a ticket.
  • Limit of 1 statement credit per eligible card member account.
  • Offer valid only on flights booked directly with ZIPAIR through zipair.net.
  • Flights must originate in the U.S. and be paid for in U.S. dollars.
  • Valid only for online purchases paid for at the time of reservation, including airfare, fare upgrades, seat selection, amenities, service packages, and baggage fees.
  • Excludes purchases made in-person at the airport; all onboard purchases including food, beverage, and Wi-Fi; flight insurance; and purchases made through agents, affiliates, and third parties.
  • Allow 90 days after January 15, 2025, for the statement credit to be posted.

To check if your account is eligible for this offer, log in to your account on the American Express website or mobile app (iOS, Android) and navigate to the Amex Offers tab. Once there, if you see the offer, simply click to add it to your card.

Hot Tip:

It can be hard to keep track of the dozens of new Amex offers added each month, especially since some cardholders are targeted for different offers. We publish a monthly list of all of the best Amex Offers to help keep you in the know.

Is This Offer Worth It?

Even when flying from the West Coast, flights to Japan are very long. So, having a comfortable lie-flat seat for the hop across the Pacific is a great perk — especially if that lie-flat seat allows you to get some restful sleep during your flight.

ZIPAIR tickets in lie-flat seats often cost between $1,100 and $1,300, while other carriers often charge 3x to 4x more. This Amex Offer throws in an additional $100 in savings on top of the funds you’re already saving by choosing to book with ZIPAIR.

That said, it’s worth reiterating that the inflight experience with ZIPAIR and business class with other carriers is not comparable. But if your main priority is to have a comfortable seat at a reasonable cost, then taking advantage of this offer could definitely be worth it.

Final Thoughts

If you’ve been considering a trip to Japan and you have the budget to spring for a nicer seat but don’t need all the bells and whistles of a traditional business class experience, ZIPAIR could be the perfect middle ground.

Thanks to this Amex Offer, you can save an extra $100 on your next flight with ZIPAIR. Just make sure you book before the offer expires on January 15, 2025.
