Boston Logan International Airport has been on a roll recently with huge increases in air service, facilities expansion, and more.

Now, we’ve learned of another major upgrade coming to the airport in a couple of years. American Express is set to open a massive Centurion Lounge in the airport’s Terminal C, expected to open in 2027.

Here’s everything we know so far.

Boston Is Getting a Centurion Lounge

According to Thrifty Traveler, Massport, the agency that controls airports and seaports throughout Massachusetts, unanimously approved plans to construct a brand-new Centurion Lounge in Terminal C, near gate C10, at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS).

According to plans filed with Massport, the lounge will be built atop an existing structure and offer 20,000 square feet of space over 2 floors, making it one of the largest spaces in the Centurion Lounge network. The lounge will also feature a “green roof,” as well as a rooftop bar and patio for guests to enjoy.

Centurion Lounges have been notoriously crowded throughout the last several years. In making this space a whopping 20,000 square feet, Amex seems to have acknowledged that the frenzy of lounge visitors won’t be subsiding any time soon and is making the space plenty large to accommodate the throng of visitors.

Construction is expected to begin this year and should be completed in 2027. Inside, guests will find plenty of top-tier amenities, including a full-service bar, a seating area with a fireplace, and more. We should learn more details soon regarding the lounge’s full offerings.

The arrival of the Centurion Lounge in Boston is yet another notch in the airport’s belt when it comes to premium spaces. Chase operates a Sapphire Lounge, Delta operates a Sky Club and a Delta One Lounge, and, as revealed in the Massport meeting, JetBlue will open a lounge of its own in Terminal C as well, though details are scant on that front at this moment.

Accessing Centurion Lounges

Entry to any American Express Centurion Lounge is complimentary for those who have one (or more) of the following cards:

Along with an eligible card, guests must present a valid same-day boarding pass and government-issued ID to gain entry.

Cardmembers aren’t admitted more than 3 hours before the departure time on their same-day, confirmed boarding pass (this does not apply to connecting flights). Children under 2 are admitted without a fee if the accompanying parent or guardian can provide a lap infant boarding pass or proof of age.

Hot Tip:

If you’re interested in access to lounges outside of the Centurion Lounge group, check out our article on the best credit cards for lounge access.

Final Thoughts

Boston is next up for an American Express Centurion Lounge. The airport has gained momentum recently, and the announcement of a Centurion Lounge is further proof of that.

Soon, the airport will be home to a multitude of lounges from both credit card issuers and airlines alike. We’ll be sure to update this story as we continue to learn more about this new Amex lounge while we wait for its opening in 2027.

Between now and then, 2025 should see the opening of the Centurion Lounge in Salt Lake City, and Amex should open its Newark (EWR) lounge in 2026.
