Avelo Airlines quietly rolled out a new membership program called Avelo Plus. The program offers some exclusive perks, plus the ability to stack with Avelo’s frequent promotions.

Even better: the airline is offering the membership at half off for the first year. Let’s take a look.

Avelo’s New Membership Subscription

Avelo Airlines has introduced Avelo Plus, a subscription-based program. Here’s what you’ll get with a membership:

  • Access to member-only Avelo Plus pricing on flights
  • Free priority boarding
  • Member-only promotions and discounts year-round
  • $50 Avelo Cash Bonus at membership renewal
  • Ability to share perks with up to 9 friends traveling on the same reservation
  • No blackout dates

Booking an Avelo Plus fare is pretty simple. Like other airlines with membership programs, such as Frontier’s Discount Den, you’ll see the discounted fares alongside the standard fares.

After selecting your flights, log in to your account to book your Avelo Plus fare or purchase a membership to continue booking. You’ll be able to apply a promo code as long as the terms and conditions allow it.

However, Avelo Plus fares can’t be used when booking through customer support, at the airport, or on a third-party site.

The program costs $99 annually; however, Avelo is offering it for just $49 for the first year.

Hot Tip:

As a low-cost airline, Avelo can offer affordable flights by passing on ancillary purchases, such as seat selection and inflight drinks and snacks, to customers. Take a look at our guide to Avelo’s fees to avoid surprises at the airport!

Avelo’s Turbulent Year

This is some good news for start-up airline Avelo, which has had a rather turbulent year.

This summer, the airline announced that it would end all West Coast operations and close its hub at Burbank Airport (BUR). These flights will end by December. The news came as a surprise to customers, as Avelo offered dirt-cheap fares and nonstop connections to otherwise underserved destinations.

Avelo’s decision to run deportation flights for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) earlier this year also sparked controversy, with calls to boycott the airline.

However, it hasn’t been all bad news.

Avelo recently announced 6 new routes on the East Coast, including new flights to Punta Cana (PUJ) and San Juan (SJU). The airline also recently placed an order for 50 Embraer E195-E2 jets, with delivery scheduled to begin in the first half of 2027.

Final Thoughts

Avelo Airlines has launched a membership program, offering perks such as flight discounts and priority boarding. The program makes the most sense to purchase if you fly Avelo frequently, but even if you don’t, a membership at a 50% discount (for the first year) is still a great deal.
