Frequent Avianca flyers have a new elite status to aim for.

The airline has launched Magno, a new top-tier level in its Lifemiles loyalty program that includes perks like complimentary upgrades, unlimited lounge access, priority airport services, and double mileage earning on Avianca flights.

Here’s what travelers need to know about the new status.

Magno Becomes the New Top Tier in the Lifemiles Program

Avianca’s Lifemiles program currently has 4 elite status tiers: Red Plus, Silver Elite, Gold Elite, and Diamond Elite. With the launch of Magno, the airline is adding a new level above Diamond, creating a fifth and most exclusive tier for its most frequent travelers.

One of the biggest highlights of this top-tier status is complimentary upgrades. Magno members will be eligible for upgrades on Avianca’s rebranded business class routes throughout the Americas and on domestic flights, subject to availability.

However, the new tier benefits begin before travelers even reach the airport. Members receive complimentary seat selection, including Plus seats and emergency exit rows, and access to same-day earlier flight changes on domestic routes within Colombia. Avianca will also provide a dedicated WhatsApp support channel available before, during, and after travel.

At the airport, Magno members receive priority check-in, priority boarding, Fast Track access where available, and personalized assistance from dedicated Magno Executive agents at Bogotá El Dorado International Airport (BOG). Travelers also receive additional baggage allowances.

Lounge access is another standout benefit. Members receive unlimited access to Avianca VIP lounges and may bring up to 4 guests per visit. Magno members will also have access to Star Alliance Gold lounges worldwide, along with a limited number of visits to select partner lounges.

The benefits continue on board. In addition to upgrade opportunities, members receive complimentary snacks and beverages in economy class. Finally, they’ll also earn a 100% elite mileage bonus on Avianca-operated flights, effectively doubling the number of miles earned on eligible travel.

Even if you don’t fly Avianca regularly, Lifemiles remains one of the most useful Star Alliance loyalty programs thanks to its frequent mileage sales, no fuel surcharges on most partner awards, and access to airlines like United, Lufthansa, ANA, and Singapore Airlines.

Final Thoughts

While Avianca hasn’t yet shared exactly how members will qualify for Magno, the airline says the status is designed to recognize its most loyal customers with a more premium experience both on the ground and in the air.

Until then, travelers can at least get a glimpse of what Avianca’s most loyal customers can expect at the top with the Lifemiles program.
