Update:

The offer mentioned below has expired and is no longer available.

Chase’s British Airways Visa Signature® Card, Aer Lingus Visa Signature® Card, and Iberia Visa Signature® Card are now offering elevated welcome offers of 85,000 Avios after meeting minimum spend requirements.

Here’s what you need to know about the bonuses and features offered by each card.

New Welcome Bonus Offer for Avios-Earning Credit Cards

All 3 credit cards are currently offering the same welcome bonus of 85,000 Avios after spending $5,000 within the first 3 months from account opening. This means, at the bare minimum, you will have 90,000 Avios after fulfilling the minimum spending requirements. That’s 5,000 Avios for the spending and 85,000 from the welcome bonus.

We value Avios at 1.25 cents each, which means you will have at least $1,125 worth of Avios, a solid 22.5% return on your initial spending.

There are many ways to redeem Avios for good value. Whether you’re looking to travel with your entire family in economy or treat yourself to business-class tickets, the great thing about these offers is that each card comes with the same limited-time elevated bonus.

In addition, you have the option to transfer Avios between British Airways, Qatar Airways, Iberia, and Aer Lingus accounts, providing you with greater flexibility. Transfers happen at a 1:1 ratio and are instant.

Card Protections

  • Baggage delay insurance
  • Lost luggage reimbursement

All of the cards feature the same welcome offer, so when analyzing which card is best for you, consider which airline would fit your future travel plans the best. Each airline has different route networks, so finding which works for you could be a good start.

Additionally, consider how much you’ll be spending on the card. If you’re planning on spending heavily, you may want to consider the British Airways Visa card or the Aer Lingus card, as they come with companion tickets. For solo travel, the Iberia Visa Signature card can provide a discount you might like for upcoming flights. Moreover, you’ll already be 1/6th of the way toward these spending requirements after you complete the spending required for the welcome bonus.

Final Thoughts

Earning 90,000 Avios from 1 welcome offer in just a few months can be a great way to plan for upcoming travel later this year or into next year. Moreover, if you have a significant other you travel with often, consider having them apply for a similar card so you can earn even more. But, most importantly, be sure to have a plan to hit the welcome bonus requirement before you apply for a card.
