Jordan’s rich history, breathtaking natural scenery, and inviting hospitality have made it a popular tourist destination in recent years. It’s no surprise that Jordan’s flagship airline, Royal Jordanian Airlines, has made a concerted effort to expand its U.S. route network.

Now, the airline has released plenty of dates with award availability for business class seats from the United States to Amman, Jordan, making it even easier to get there. Let us have a look.

Award Alert — Details

Royal Jordanian Airlines offers nonstop direct flights to 5 North American cities — Chicago (ORD), Detroit (DTW), Montreal (YUL), New York (JFK), and Toronto (YYZ) — from its home base in Jordan’s capital, Amman.

However, the airline is actively expanding its U.S. route network by adding more new destinations, making it easier for U.S. flyers to reach the beautiful country of Jordan without needing to make a connection in another city first.

You’ll get a lot of value for your points when you book these flights, which can last up to 11 hours.

  • Class: Business
  • Route: Chicago (ORD), New York (JFK) to Amman (AMM)
  • Cost: 70,000 Alaska Mileage Plan miles
  • Travel Dates: January to June 2025
  • Award Seats: Up to 2 passengers per route

The majority of award space we’ve found for Royal Jordanian business class from the U.S. departs from Chicago (ORD) and New York (JFK), with up to 2 seats available on specific days at a cost of 70,000 Alaska miles for the one-way flight and $20.60 in taxes and fees.

While the carrier’s business class will not win any awards, it’s a very comfortable option for flying directly to Amman from the U.S. with no stops in between.

How To Book

The best way to book these business class award seats is by using Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles.

You can earn Alaska miles in a variety of ways, including flying with Alaska, Oneworld members, or other partner airlines, through welcome bonuses and spending on Alaska co-branded credit cards, or transferring points from Marriott Bonvoy at a 3:1 ratio or transferring Bilt Rewards points at a 1:1 ratio.

In addition, you can now transfer your Amex Membership Rewards to Alaska indirectly through Hawaiian Airlines thanks to the Alaska-Hawaiian merger, which is great if you need to top off your Alaska Mileage Plan account for a redemption.

Final Thoughts

If you’ve been eager to visit Jordan and explore Petra, one of the new Seven Wonders of the World, or if you’re considering a larger trip in the Middle East, you can use Alaska miles to book Royal Jordanian flights from Chicago or New York for as few as 70,000 miles each way. One thing to note: some dates have up to 2 seats available, but most only have 1. So, if this deal catches your eye, you’ll want to jump on it quickly!
