When it first launched in 2021, Bilt’s credit card was issued by Evolve Bank & Trust — prior to Wells Fargo starting to issue the card in 2022. If you still have the Evolve version, it’s going away at the end of this year.

Those with the Evolve version of the Bilt World Elite Mastercard® Credit Card have until December 31, 2024, to decide what to do. However, there are some bonus points available if you make up your mind before then.

Evolve Version of the Bilt Card Closing on December 31

On December 31, 2024, the Evolve version of the Bilt Card will close. How do you know if you have the Evolve version? First, you pay your bill to Evolve, not Wells Fargo. Second, you can identify this by the date you opened your account: If you opened the Bilt Card before March 28, 2022, it was issued by Evolve. Since then, the card has been issued by Wells Fargo.

Unfortunately, your card won’t be automatically transferred to Wells Fargo. If you want to continue using the Bilt Card, you’ll need to apply for the Wells Fargo-issued Bilt Card.

If you have the Evolve version of the Bilt Card, you may find details about the account closure within the Bilt Rewards app.

Bonus Points if You Apply for the Wells Fargo Bilt Card

Update:The offer mentioned below has expired and is no longer available.

If you have the Evolve card and want to earn Bilt Rewards points with your credit card into 2025, Bilt is offering 10,000 bonus points if you apply for the Wells Fargo-issued Bilt Card by August 31, 2024. We value Bilt points at 1.8 cents each, making this bonus worth $180!

Considering the Bilt Card has historically not offered a welcome bonus offer, this is a nice opportunity to earn bonus points while keeping the card in your wallet.

Keeping the Bilt Card will allow you to continue accessing Bilt’s transfer partners and earning Bilt Rewards points on rent with no administrative fees. Just remember that you have to make at least 5 transactions on your card each billing period to earn points.

Final Thoughts

If you still have the Evolve-issued Bilt Card — issued prior to March 2022 — these accounts are closing on December 31. If you’d like to continue holding the Bilt Card past that date, you’ll need to apply for the card with Wells Fargo; to incentivize you, Bilt is offering 10,000 bonus points if you apply by August 31.
