Do you use Bilt to pay your mortgage or rent, or earn points around town? Then you should familiarize yourself with changes coming in 2027.

One of the biggest additions is Daily Rewards, launching January 15, 2027, which gives members a chance to win instant prizes or collect rewards toward bigger prizes, including $1 million toward a home. Bilt is also changing how Bilt Cash expires, giving members more time to use what they’ve earned.

There are also updates to hotel bookings, elite status benefits, and credit card perks. Most of these changes are good news for members, though there are a few trade-offs worth knowing about. Not everything kicks in on January 15, either, so there’s quite a bit to unpack.

Here’s what you need to know.

Daily Rewards Gives You Something Extra for Paying Your Housing Bill

Starting January 15, 2027, every on-time rent or mortgage payment through Bilt Rewards will unlock a Daily Reward. You can also earn 1 Daily Reward each day through eligible neighborhood activities, like dining out, taking a fitness class, or booking a Lyft ride.

Each time you unlock a Daily Reward, you’ll get 2 options to choose from. You can take an instant reward, like Bilt Points or Bilt Cash, or collect a reward that can get you closer to a much larger prize.

Some of the bigger prizes will include:

  • $1 million toward buying a home
  • 10 million Bilt Points
  • A year of rent or mortgage payments
  • A year of Lyft rides
  • A dream getaway

The purpose of the new Daily Reward is to recognize members for what they’re already doing in Bilt. You can opt for a smaller reward or collect smaller pieces toward something bigger, though there’s no guarantee you’ll win.

The good news is you won’t need a Bilt credit card to participate. Eligible rent or mortgage payments made through Bilt using a bank account, debit card, or credit card will qualify. For Bilt cardholders, you will still be able to earn points on housing payments as you normally do, in addition to Daily Rewards.

Bilt says more details, including full rules and additional prizes, will be announced in the new year.

You’ll Have More Time To Use Your Bilt Cash

If you’ve ever found yourself scrambling to use your Bilt Cash before the end of the year when it expires, this change should come as welcome news.

Until now, Bilt Cash has expired at the end of each calendar year, with up to $100 allowed to roll over. Under the new policy, you now have 12 months from the month you earn Bilt Cash to use it. For example, if you earned $100 in February 2026, you’d have until February 28, 2027, to spend it. That gives you more time to use your Bilt Cash without rushing to spend a big chunk of it before the end of the year.

It’s important to note that your Bilt Cash expiration date is based on when you earn it, not on your card anniversary. This new policy is in effect as of today, October 27, 2026.

Hot Tip:

Remember, Bilt Cash and Bilt Points are different. Bilt Cash can be used for eligible purchases and perks through Bilt, while Bilt Points can be transferred to airline and hotel partners.

Hotel Redemptions With Bilt Cash Will Be Less Frequent

Although you’ll have more time to use your Bilt Cash, there’s a change coming to hotel bookings that isn’t quite as good.

Starting January 1, 2027, you’ll only be able to use Bilt Cash toward eligible Bilt Hotel bookings twice a year, with the amount you can redeem depending on your Bilt elite status tier:

Right now, Blue and Silver members can use up to $50 in Bilt Cash each month toward eligible hotel bookings, while Gold and Platinum members can use up to $100. So, even though your Bilt Cash won’t expire as quickly, you’ll have fewer chances to use it toward hotel stays.

Gold and Platinum Members Can Use Points for More Hotel Bookings

While Bilt is limiting how often members can use Bilt Cash toward hotel bookings, there’s some good news for Gold and Platinum elite members who want to use their Bilt points instead.

Starting in 2027, these members will be able to redeem Bilt Points toward Home Away from Home hotel bookings, which may also include luxury hotel perks.

Although it gives Gold and Platinum elite members another way to use Bilt Points, we’ll have to see what the redemption rates look like before determining whether it’s a better deal than transferring points to a hotel partner.

Bilt hasn’t announced an exact launch date for this new benefit, but we’ll update this article once we know more. These bookings will provide a value of 1.25 cents per point.

Bilt Elite Members Will Get Rental Car Status Matches

Bilt is also adding rental car status matches in 2027, giving elite members another perk when they travel. Depending on your Bilt elite status, you’ll be eligible to match to a higher status with SIXT or Hertz, which can come with perks like upgrades and other benefits when you rent a car.

If you rent cars, this could give your Bilt status another use beyond the program itself. Just keep in mind that, unlike the Platinum Card® from American Express and The Business Platinum Card® from American Express, which offer rental car elite status through enrollment, Bilt requires at least Silver status and a status match request.

Bilt Card Benefits Will Change on Your Anniversary

If you have a Bilt credit card, there are a few changes coming, but the good news is that nothing changes with your current earning benefits until your next card anniversary.

Bilt is simplifying how cardholders earn rewards on housing payments. Under the new structure, you’ll earn up to 1.25 points per $1 on rent or mortgage payments, while your everyday spending rewards will stay the same (offer terms). As part of that change, Bilt is moving away from its Flexible Bilt Cash mode, which lets cardholders earn 4% back in Bilt Cash on everyday purchases.

However, existing cardholders can keep Flexible Bilt Cash by opting out of the new benefits in their card settings before their anniversary. Just know that opting out means you won’t be able to switch between earning modes afterward, though you’ll keep eligible annual credits.

Here’s what else is changing for cardholders moving to the new benefits:

  • Palladium Card: The $200 Bilt Cash credit and $400 hotel credit will be combined into a single $600 annual Bilt Cash credit.
  • Bilt Obsidian Card (rates & fees): The $100 hotel credit will become $100 in annual Bilt Cash.

These credits will be issued on your card anniversary instead of January 1. Both cards will offer Point Accelerator redemptions under the new benefits. For now, you can continue earning rewards as usual and check the Bilt app to see if you’re eligible for a card upgrade.

Final Thoughts

Overall, we think there’s a lot to like about these changes.

Daily Rewards will give members another way to earn rewards on things they’re already doing, while the new 12-month Bilt Cash expiration window means less pressure to spend rewards before the end of the year. Just remember, expiration is based on when you earn the Bilt Cash, not your card anniversary.

Of course, not every change is a win, with Bilt Cash hotel redemptions dropping to twice a year. Cardholders will also need to decide whether to keep the Flexible Bilt Cash mode or switch to the new earning structure before their next anniversary.
