For a while this morning, Bilt Rewards was showing Japan Airlines (JAL) as a points transfer partner. That option has now disappeared, but we can assume Bilt will officially add transfers to JAL in the near future.

Here’s a look at what we believe will be Bilt’s next transfer partner for your points.

Bilt Rewards Points Transfers to Japan Airlines

For a few hours this morning, April 19, Japan Airlines (JAL) was showing as a points transfer partner from Bilt Rewards. As first noticed in this Reddit thread, the transfer partner page was live here but now leads to an error message.

The fact the URL has Japan Airlines and “transfer” in the name makes it likely that JAL will be added as an official transfer partner soon, and it likely showed up early — and by accident — on Bilt’s website.

While it was live, Bilt was showing a 1:1 transfer ratio, meaning 1,000 Bilt Rewards points would become 1,000 Mileage Bank miles.

Bilt sometimes provides bonuses for linking or transferring your points to a new partner for the first time, so we hope this will happen with JAL. Until this partner is announced officially, you can continue to utilize Bilt’s other transfer partners.

Best Ways To Use JAL Mileage Bank Miles

There are multiple great ways to redeem Mileage Bank miles for top value. Those include business class on Emirates or booking multiple stopovers on partner flights, plus, of course, booking award flights and upgrades on Japan Airlines itself. You can book domestic flights in Japan very cheaply, or you can go big with Japan Airlines’ fantastic first class.

Since JAL is a member of the Oneworld alliance, you’ll have access to booking award flights with partners like American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, British Airways, Qatar Airways, and more. JAL also has a non-alliance partnership with Emirates if you’re interested in redeeming your miles to fly the Dubai-based carrier.

Final Thoughts

Bilt Rewards appears primed to add Japan Airlines (JAL) as its next transfer partner, though we don’t know when the official announcement will come. The transfer page was live for a short while this morning, and we have reached out to Bilt for comment on this.

Until it’s announced officially, transfers aren’t possible, but this is sure to be an exciting addition when it becomes official.
