Bilt quietly rolled out a new award search feature to its travel portal that points and miles fans will love.

Now, when searching for flights in the Bilt Travel Portal, users will see cash and award prices side by side … but only for 2 airlines.

This is something we have not seen before directly from a rewards program before, but it’s not perfect. Let’s take a look at how it works in the real world.

Cash and Award Flight Prices Now Shown Together

Bilt Rewards has a useful new feature when searching for flights. Now, some cash and award prices are shown side by side when searching for flights in the Bilt Travel Portal.

This is a great new feature that many Bilt Rewards members will benefit from, but it is currently limited to just 2 airlines. Currently, this capability is only available for one-way, nonstop British Airways and Iberia flights, with round-trip pricing to follow soon. However, all cabin classes are available.

To try out this new feature, just head to your Bilt account and click on the Travel tab to start your flight search.

Since I know we are limited to British Airways or Iberia routes, I searched Boston (BOS) to London (LHR) in February, and it brought up the following options:

You can clearly see the cash price (which matches what Google Flights is showing), how many Bilt Rewards points it would cost if you book via the portal, or how many Avios the same flight would cost if you transfer directly to British Airways.

For anyone who has searched for award flights, having all this information in one place makes the booking process much easier. The only way to improve this would be to show how much other programs are charging.

For example, Alaska Airlines charges 22,500 points plus $336 in taxes and fees for the same flight. Meanwhile, you could book the same route on Virgin Atlantic for just 10,000 points plus $109 in taxes and fees.

Both are Bilt transfer partners, but you won’t be shown those rates in the Bilt Travel Portal.

Final Thoughts

Bilt just introduced a really useful feature to its Bilt Travel Portal. Now, users can view cash and award prices side by side for flights. Although it is currently limited to just 2 airlines, it should still prove handy for many travelers, especially those looking for British Airways and Iberia flights.

Time will tell if Bilt rolls out this feature to more airlines and hotel partners in the future, which would really be a game-changer. Currently, if you really want the best price, you will still need to do some extra searching.
